Overall, the spice content is strong but subtle enough not to overpower the floral nose and taste too. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Draft at GABF. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a nice enough head. Nose is really herbal and nice. Great honey notes, lavender and then roasemary pine notes. Some wet bread as well. On taste, nice and mellow bitterness. Aggressive florals that are quite nice. More honey and herbal tea as well. Really great beer. barncatmatt (2355) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2013

Bomber poured a hazy amber with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of heather, bread, light honey and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of heather, bread and spice with a crisp dry lingering heather finish.

Deep amber with some light cherry hues and a beige head that is rocky, fairly large and well-retained.
Very odd (but not in a bad way) nose shows cotton candy, cherry, vanilla, some odd medicinal/peppery phenols (characteristic of heather) and light touches of honey, marmalade and caramel. Smells pretty good! But you certainly have to like gruits as there’s ALOT of floral notes. No alcohol, no flaws.
Flavor is very heathery, with a heavy earthiness that gets both tart, peppery and then sweet-and-sour. The lower than average attenuation (for CBC, meaning it’s just mid-dry) leaves light sugars to balance and a delicious cherry-vanilla note forms by combination of heather and malt. Soft texture with some oiliness and ample carbonation. The heather does leave a bit of a scratchy, almost stale popcorn-like flavor lingering (lightly) but that’s about the only detractor here.
On tap at CBC 8/2010. This beer is a deep golden amber color with a nice floral aroma. Flavor is well balanced slightly sweet and slightly floral, but not too much so. Clean finish.
