A curious hazy orange. Grainy aroma with some tangerine fruit. Taste is pleasantly citric and refreshing with a little clove and background biscuit. Nice on a sunny day sitting in the garden watching the cricket on television through the sitting room window. bacchanalia (146) - milton, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2009
Amazingly a British wheat beer that’s very good. Most British wheat beers I’ve come across suffer from an identity crisis, not brewed in the German way or spiced like Belgians they end up fairly bland. This however, has a nice waft of barley & bread & a hint of banana on the nose, smelling like a German. The palate though is it’s own man, nice & light & fresh but with good punch of fruit, the bread/yeast flavour still lurks there & the finish is long with juicy malt & bread fruit. A great summer beer for those who want a bit of flavour in their beer.
