Arriving in time to greet the new year is our deceptively efficacious Belgian strong ale. Golden-straw color, effervescent condition, and commingling flavors and aromas of curacao orange, coriander, yeasty fruit esters and phenols, a subtle malt base, and a warming, slightly hoppy finish. Served proudly in its own tulip-shaped glass, this perennial was the first Belgian-style beer produced in American craft-brewing history according to the beer Hunter, Michael Jackson. Dont miss it!

Bottle. Golden orange hazy with long lasting head. Spicy fruity aroma with hints of honey and vanilla. Sweet honey and vanilla with some light peachy orange fruit and spicy finish that is very balanced sweet and dry. Medium full body soft and silky. heavier and more alcohol than I usually like in my tripels, but, damn, the aroma and flavor and texture and everything else are spot on. Guess Im getting drunk tonight. Fuckin Excellent.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a glossy burnt orange color with a slim finger-ed white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Stringy lacing running here and there. The smell had the typical qualities of a tripel - iced apples, slight Belgian spice, allspice, some ginger, spice cake. Really nice. The taste was a nice balance between the spice and the sweetness with a sly sweet grassy aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat between a light to medium in body. Sipping to sessionable quality roaming around the feel. Overall, for the first Belgian styled ale brewed in the USA back in the 90s, yeah, this still has it goin on. Great stuff, cheers to not reinventing the wheel!
