4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the 750ml bottle into a Harpoon tulip glass
The color is a bright yellow/gold with two fingers of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass.
The smell is sweet and has a great floral aroma that pops with a nice fruity nose. There is hints of apple peel, orange, and pear in the aroma with a touch of a Belgian character.
The taste is a bit yeasty with a grainy flavor that pops with some sweet malty flavor. The juicy fruit flavor here is delicious as some apricot, and apple flavor mixes with a tease of white grape. A nice tangy bitterness comes in and melds with the sweetness and is like a double edged sword as the flavor splashes into a poke of bitterness at the end.
The feel of this beer is medium bodied with a great drinkable feel that is a little dry but quite pleasing. It goes down easy and has some nice fruity esters that lingers only slightly after each sip.
Crisp copper coloured body with a nice lightly hazy glow and a good, three centimetre tall off-white head on top. Aroma of honey, flowers, pungent earthy malts and a good deal of sugars throughout, all with a noticeable alcohol bite near the tail end. Full-bodied; Strong pungent honey and sugars at first that give way to a strong robust malty flavour and a large alcohol presence with some apricots and other fruits noticeable towards the tail end. Aftertaste shows more of the pungency from the alcohol and sugars than the lighter notes, but there are some of the yeast and the lighter spice notes of coriander seed and a bit of some grain. Overall, a decent-ish tripel that shows some good sides, but nothing entirely enjoyable or cohesive throughout. Nice to sample, and at this price point/location, not a bad option! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 11-April-2017 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on 15-October-2017 in celebration of my oldest daughter's fifth birthday - Happy Birthday Claire! hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 18, 2017
22oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a small sized head. Fruits (apples and pears) and lighter spice with the alcohol content for 10% well hidden. Sweeter but not cloying. malrubius (2986) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - AUG 2, 2016
Bottle. Golden orange hazy with long lasting head. Spicy fruity aroma with hints of honey and vanilla. Sweet honey and vanilla with some light peachy orange fruit and spicy finish that is very balanced sweet and dry. Medium full body soft and silky. heavier and more alcohol than I usually like in my tripels, but, damn, the aroma and flavor and texture and everything else are spot on. Guess I’m getting drunk tonight. Fuckin Excellent. fonefan (50762) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAY 7, 2016

Bottle. Light tan color with a thin head that fades. Sweet bready and boozy. Boozy and pretty straight forward Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - APR 16, 2016
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a glossy burnt orange color with a slim finger-ed white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Stringy lacing running here and there.
The smell had the typical qualities of a tripel - iced apples, slight Belgian spice, allspice, some ginger, spice cake. Really nice.
The taste was a nice balance between the spice and the sweetness with a sly sweet grassy aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat between a light to medium in body. Sipping to sessionable quality roaming around the feel.
Overall, for the first Belgian styled ale brewed in the USA back in the ’90’s, yeah, this still has it goin’ on. Great stuff, cheers to not reinventing the wheel! kayres (888) - , Georgia, USA - APR 2, 2016
Hazy golden with a white head. But if a buttery yeasty aroma. Sweet and smooth flavors. But of banana
