22 oz. bottle purchased at the brewpub. Pours a hazy deep amber with a fizzy thin-moderate off-white head that vanished before I could take my first sip. There are lots of carbonation bubbles rushing to the surface. Looks more like a soda than a beer. The aroma is spice and not much else really. The flavor is malt with some sweetness to it along with a strong dose of spice. Heavy carbonation. An interesting beer to try but not something I would likely seek out again. 22oz bottle batch #1. Amber colored beer that gets murky as the bottle goes down. Aroma is sweet caramel a a fist full of fresh herbs and walk through the field. Taste starts with a tartness like orange juice than gets maltly int he middle and finishes rosemary but that tartness goes along to. palate is in the middle. 22oz bottle picked up at the brewpub. Batch 1, bottled April 2012. Pours a cloudy, deep amber-orange colored body with a finger-width, fizzy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is lightly sweetened dark caramels and a touch of bread with some herbal spices, earth, and floral fruits. Rosemary, coriander, grass, a hint of smoke, and a light lemon. Flavor is lightly sweetened caramel up front with a slightly tart lemon, herbal spices, and earth. A touch of breadiness to the caramel in the middle with more rosemary, coriander, ginger, and florals. Caramel gets a bit deeper towards the end as this finishes with lots of florals and herbal spices as well as a touch of acidity. Medium length aftertaste following a light body and a moderately fizzy carbonation. Overall, an interesting beer. On tap at the brewpub. My first gruit, I believe. A very fruity, complex and unique profile. I like herbal in beer and this has a subtle herbal tint to it, without feeling overspiced in any one direction. Somehow this manages to taste hot, bubblegummy, and homebrew-sweet in the end. Some rough edges smoothed would make this very interesting.

Rosemary, nettle and some liqourice. Dry, malty and spiced finish. Herbal and caramelish malty finish. A Sim rate (Tap at the brewpub): Smells of sage & rosemary, thyme & coriander. Spiced like a Belgian Christmas beer. So overwhelmingly spiced. Again in the flavour it’s just too spiced. Sage & rosemary again. Very Belgiany hops & malt.
