Keg at the brewery. Aroma is nutty, dark malt extract, sticky, mineral, hint of dried fruits. Opaque dark murky brown coloured pour with a lasting frothy cream coloured head. Flavour is composed of thin roast malts, really malty, some dark choc, dried fruits, very dry in the finish. Very archetypal Schwartz beer. Clean interesting and goes down very easy. Little mineral on the tongue. Nice dry finish begs another sio. Palate is medium light with a crisp dry finish.really tasty Schwartz beer. Opaque black beer, little pale tan head. Palate is a little crisp and quite dry. Minerals. Dry dark malt, a little roast, but not bitter. Tiny bit of citrus in the minerally semi dry and crisp finish. Not bad and I think my first Black Pils!
Bottled as "Black friday black pilsner", from Beermerchants.com. Pours almost pitch black with a moderate sized creamy tanned head. Aroma of light roasted malts, liquorice and chocolate. Taste is light sweet caramel, medium bodied with a light roasted end. Refreshing, nothing extreme, just good.
