Flavour is composed of thin roast malts, really malty, some dark choc, dried fruits, very dry in the finish. Very archetypal Schwartz beer. Clean interesting and goes down very easy. Little mineral on the tongue. Nice dry finish begs another sio. A 0.33l bottle (on a Thursday) - from beermerchants.com that pours a dark brown licorice-body that’s impossible to see light through, and it has a really good looking big and lasting beige almost creamy and lacing head. It smells light malty with tones of roasted malts and licorice. Not extreme in any way, but it’s something calming and quite relaxing about this aroma. Hard to describe properly, but I quite like it. There is also a touch of hops in the background here. It has a comfortable average small prickling carbonation level with a somewhat thin and almost watery texture. Flavors has that same gentle and calming thing found in the aroma. Light roasted with some watered down licorice and a mild hoppy sting. This was actually quite tasty here in the steaming May sun that has taken every Bergensere by surprise. Skål i sola Ola! 24.05.2012
