Helles and Pilsner combine – the pale, crisp body of Pils with the gentle hop profile of Helles. It’s pale gold, refined, elegant and dry. Soft biscuity malt, a light lemony, peppery hop character and the sort of bitterness which quenches and never overpowers. Matured for a long time in tank, it’s how a great lager should taste.

Light crisp tasting Helles style lager from the amazing Camden Town Brewery. Good aroma but slightly let down on taste with the hype from the other beers they produce. Still a good beer though and I would choose it again.

Crisp as they say, it is a lager, very typical aroma, and the taste is as any lager with a bit more going formit. I don't get the helles part to be hokest, but fair on'em.

10-03-2018; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their March 2018 discovery box). The looks of the beer are quite simple. The color of the beer is golden yellow, but it is a very pale beer. One of the palest beers I've seen. The beer is quite clear, but a slight haziness exists. ON top of the beer a rough layer of white foam is formed. Foam retention is really low. Only a minimal drape is left after some moments. The smell of the beer is fine. It isn't really special of strong, but it defiantly isn't bad. It has a nice malty touch, but the main smell is filled by some nice crisp hops. I smell some nice zesty hops, with a nice spicy touch. For a Dortmunder/Helles the hop profile is quite clear and crisp. I like this. The taste of the beer is comparable. Nice sweet bisquitiy malts with a refreshing lemony hop touch and some peppery spices and overall bitter hops. Yeast seems to give just a smoothing touch. Well balanced beer. Nice. The palate of the beer is fine. Light body, smooth and high carbonation. The finish of the beer is nice. It has a delicious crisp holiness with some nice lemon zest in there. Also the peppery touch is there. For a Helles, the finish is quite long. All in all, a nice beer.

Tap, pint. Tasted on the 28/01/2018 at "Crazy Pedro´s", Manchester (England). Not in the best conditions. Clear golden colour with a low white head. Medium flat carbonation. Aroma of pale malts, yeast and sugar. Taste is grainy and yeasty leading to slightly watery finish. Next one please!

Bottle 33cl @Paris, a clear yellow beer, Nose is on grassy hops and grain, aroma is on the same grain, nutty, lager like whit an earthy profile, correct but not outstanding at all.

Can from Tesco. A clear pale straw gold with a fluffy white head and a spiral of bubbles rising in the glass. What the hell is there not to like?? The aromas are all light with a touch of fresh fruit against a dry hay and buttery sweet malt. The buttery caramel malt is light but smoothes the flavour profile. A dry spice bitterness with the crisp carbonation turns repeat sips an addictive necessity. The beer is lightly smooth with a sharp, crisp, bubbly effervescence. So drinkable! It’s a supremely refreshing lager. I loved it.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 On draft at Spread Eagle in London. Clear light Golden with white head. Malts and hops.
