COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Camden Pale Ale Style: American-style Pale Ale ABV: 4.0% IBU: 40 Malt: Pale Ale, Cara, Munich and Wheat Hops: Cascade, Columbus, Amarillo, Centennial, Simcoe, Calypso and Citra (BOOM!) Available: 30 litre kegs and 330ml bottles The story: Inspired by outrageously hop-heavy American craft brews, we wanted to brew one of our own, only at a lower, massively-drinkable ABV. Its our UK spin on an American classic. The taste: Punchy American hops throw out a big aroma of grapefruit, orange and tropical fruit. Its a bright orange-gold colour. The body is subtle and clean and a golden platter for carrying the hops. The bitterness rolls in and then ends dry, making you thirsty for another gulp.

330 ml bottle from Marks & Spencers. Aromas of sweet, tropical fruit and grass or pine. Small white head and a little hazy, dark-golden body. Taste is bitter and refreshing with citrus notes.

Can 33cl. poured into an English pint galss. Clear medium amber, good creamy off-white head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing; aroma pale malts, grapefruit, orange, grass; mild taste, light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity, grassy; sweetbitter aftertaste, light lemon/orange; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; not that impressive, but fresh and easy to drink

Its a week pale ale that tastes quite like a larger, not really my thing tbh!

33cl bb2017-11, Waitrose Hull. Watery orangey pour. Fast-to-please layer of sweet lychee, gooseberry in aroma, the clinically globalised crafty hop cocktail exemplified. Clean tastes of bittersweet green pineapple, soft microbubbles, lychee juice and citrus pith to finish. Weak and consciously watery with a good generic hop bill and no distinctive features to speak of. Lager-like in its substructure. Waitrose seems to have a knack for picking these...

Straw coloured, reasonable size head. Grapefruit, mango and grass on the nose. Zingy, fizzy mouthfeel, with grapefruit, mango, resin, pineapple and lime zest. Not as bitter as most IPAs, it went down very quickly. Price Paid: 2.30.

JoTheO (198) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 13, 2017
Amber, clear, fluffy white head leaving some lacing. Sweet aroma with resinous and floral notes. Fairly dense mouthfeel, better than expected at this abv. Taste has some toffee notes, toned down US hoppy notes and some fruit. A good standard pale ale.

Aroma of fruits, citrus and hints of malt and grass. Golden with a white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a average carbonation. Overall a refreshing and easy drinkable APA, but a bit boring.

Live rating of a 330ml bottle served cold. Impressive lime and curry leaf aroma almost ganga-like. Bright gold with a white head that dissipated rapidly. Highly citric, some tropical pineapple/mango flavour. Light bodied, dry and bitter . A bit more carbonation than I like, but thats a minor quibble. Made me fancy a slice of spicy pizza.
