Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. An inky black beer with a sweet, rich chocolate and liquorice flavour, roasted notes and vanilla and whisky on the finish. deanhollman (5) - Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2013 does not count
such a good beer. This is something very special. Definately have it again. Highly recommended Beese (3210) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2013
Bottle at The Horseshoe in Hampstead, London on 1 July 2013.
Pours a very deep ruby with a brown head. Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, liquorice. Full bodied with some initial sweetness from the malts nicely balanced with bitter burnt notes. Rich dark fruits and almost port flavours linger on the palate. Alecwallace (154) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2013
A near black, with frothy mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, raisins and light coffee. Flavour is more raisins, vanilla, chocolate, liquorice. Well bodied and easy on its way down. DanielBrown (4546) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2013
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Don’t smell like owt, except maybe lager. Really good this. solid, hardened teak exterior, with a flare of booze. It’s like a magnificent Schwarzbier: great slippery mouthfeel and dark flavour wrapped accessibly inside a refreshing delivery mode. Rampage.

Bottle. Black with a small head.Plenty of body. Malty with some coffee also present. No bitterness whatsoever. An excellent example of this lovely style.
