   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 9/20

340ml bottle. Pours an opaque chestnut-flashed black, with a huge light beige head, which lasts well without leaving much lace. The aroma has some very faint herbal hops, ginger, molasses and cola, which make for a strange mix. Mild herbal hops up front are swamped by a very high level of carbonation, which kills most of the flavour. There is a touch of soft toffee in the mid-palate, as well as some very faint banana. The finish has a cola flavour to it. This is not a great beer. It is way too carbonated, which dulls what flavour it has; once it flattens in the glass it is still pretty dull. It does, however, come from Namibia, and in its favour I’m willing to bet it is one of the best beers to be had in the whole country.

Very nice coarse foam. Luscious perfurmed aroma. The taste is too sweet with notes of banana and caramel. It is a wheat bock and the taste of banana comes probably from Wheat malt, but unlike the German wheat beer the taste of banana is a horror compared to a German Wheat Bock. Bitterness fail completely and it is a sexless beer without any positive features. It is unfiltered but not even this vitamin shots give it any significant character. It concludes with a strange acidity reminiscent of vinegar and approaching nothing that can be equated with beer. Definitely a disappointment.

At a beer tasting. Interesting to try beer from Namibia but this was not any good.

Reconqvista (339) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAR 19, 2015
Hazy golden colored beer with a small white head. Some light caramel and wheat aromas. Slightly sweet flavor with almost no bitterness. Oily with weak carbonation.

robbienate (113) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 12, 2014
Strong caramelized banana and clove with a hint of vanilla. Deep, dark colour with a somewhat rowdy head that is often unpredictable. Pleasant body with a bit of a sour-taste which detracts from the overall enjoyable offering.

KeefOz (1952) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - OCT 12, 2014
Upon pouring, the beige coloured foam filled the 20cm tall glass to the rim and retained too well. It produced an opaque dark amber coloured liquid. Carbonation low and fine. Visually unappealing. Aroma strongly of molasses but with an underlying sourness. Taste sour and vinegary – terrible!! One of the worst beers I’ve tasted!

330ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Rating from 2013. Not a world beater but certainly not the worst beer I have ever had.

Flaske 0,34l.

Mye kullsyre, lite bitter

Rune (13732) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2013
340ml bottle, 6 % abv, picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo and shared with Finn back home. A gusher. Unclear dark brown body with a rustic shade. Fast diminishing tan-coloured head. Tart and sweet aroma of dried fruits and yeast. Unsuccessful blend of yeast, caramel malts and sour fruits. Foamy and empty in the mouth. Drain pour (mass online tasting, Tromsø 03.12.2013).
