UPDATED: MAR 7, 2015 bottle. Poured hazy amber-orange with a large beige head. Aroma of citrusy hops. Medium body with a crisp bite, finishes with a tart dryness. Mainly hop forward, lemony note with sweet caramel malt and a touch spicy at the end. Gluepot (716) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 28, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2015 Moderate white-tan head on an Orange/cherry hue. Nose is prominent with butterscotch, citrus and bready malt. The zestiness of the rye works beautifully with rich malt, some spiciness and hints of caramel and light fruity hops. The hops linger, but are not out of proportion with the other tastes. A great Rye Pale Ale, and they accomplish great taste without too much alcohol. Arguably Canada’s best in this style. MrManning (2009) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2012
Deep hazed chestnut with a creamy beige cap of cream puff head. Plenty of lace and head retention to talk about. Spicy nose hints at vanilla, wood, the floral side of hops, burnt sugar. Very high bitterness with balancing malt sweetness is enjoyable. Medium/full body with astringent bitter and spicy finish. An excellent effort. 341ml bottle. Hazy orange/brown, good sized tan head and some sticky lacing. Lively carbonation. Aroma is mostly big American hops with some citrus, orange and spicy rye malt behind that. Taste is much the same with some earthy hops in the back of the mouth as well. Overall, very well balanced and drinkable, lots of good hop flavours. robinvboyer (4753) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - APR 21, 2013
Gorgeous citrus aroma. Good carb, perfect mouthfeel, hazy oranger pour with a thick, sticky head. Flavour really shows the rye. The malts are prevalent and have a slight rye sweetness. A thick pithy citrus bitterness that lingers, and is wonderful. Great stuff!
