Cask pint from the lescar, Sheffield. Dark reddish brown, with no head. Smell of burnt toast. Taste is much better, roasted malts and a hint of sweet treacle. Unexpected bitter aftertaste too. A bit thin but as a result it is more drinkable.

Draught at The Head of Steam, Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear. Very dark brown with cream head. There is a roasty character to this, pretty sweet then a dry vegetable note. It’s okay.

uckelman (811) - Durham, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2017
Pours black, no head, oily film. Aroma is malty and something a bit off, like water that’s been sitting too long. This is both sweet and ashy simultaneously, which is not a great combination. (Normally I like ashy...) Astringent finish.

3.5
