750 mL bottle from LCBO served cool in a tulip glass shared with friends. Clear bright amber with a small tan head. Lots of wood, somewhat harsh, sort of peppery and cedar-like, quite resinous, a little fruity. Medium body, fine carbonation. Lots of harsh, aggressive wood, quite peppery, cedar, odd; dry with surprisingly aggressive bitterness and a very harsh woody finish and some tartness. Something isn’t right here...bad beer or too old? mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 29, 2013
[5147-20130309] Bottle. Sweet barrel boozy hops aroma. Hazy, amber orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Fruity barrel orange hops and bitter tree resin flavour. Medium body is quite bitter. Good, almost a tart finish. (7/3+/7/3/14) 3.4 jercraigs (10591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2013
2013-03-09. Lightly hazy dark orange body with a nice beige head. 3++ Pretty interesting aroma - Lovely orange citrus, peach, woody lightly funky barrel notes. Wood starts to take over later. 7++ Flavour is similar, fruity citrusy flavour up front, modest wood grows, lingering bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. 7++ Smooth average plus palate. 3+ Much better than expected! 750 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a cloudy copper colour with small off-white head. Aroma is sour apple/pear, wood and caramel. Flavour is big sour apple/pear, wood, caramel and some sharp alcohol. Gentle carbonation. Interesting but a touch harsh. hangunder (305) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 26, 2012
Aroma is faintly reminiscent of wine, pear, slight tang. Very hazy appearance, can barely see through it, light brown. Quickly dissipating head. Nice taste, pear again, lightly sweet, kind of boozy tasting but isn’t disturbing. Not much hop bitterness in the finish, spicy notes. Medium carbonation, kind of thin/watery body. Interesting beer.

750ml bottle from the LCBO.
Hazy amber pour small white head. Light woody aroma, soft citrus, some apples and pear. The mouth feel is a tad thin, and the carb is very soft. The cognac adds a bit in the finish as thebeer warms. There is some slight boozy sweetness. There are very light otes of oak. The barrel ageing is thin, and subtle.
