UPDATED: JAN 3, 2014 mahogany colour, moderate off white head; aroma of figs, raisin, caramel, some yeast and alcohol;taste of caramel, biscuit, dried fruits (mostly figs and raisin again), some minimal bitterness and alcoholic notes; really great beer...though a bit expensive, but really good lord_totenkopf (314) - Budapest, HUNGARY - AUG 24, 2013
Light yellow colour a bit opalic with medium white head. Very fizzy, champagne-like indeed. Aroma is very yeasty with sweet, cookie-like notes. The taste is mostly sweet with alcoholic taste on the side. It is a full-bodied, oily ale, almost lives up to it’s Belgian originals. dr.dod (496) - Szeged, HUNGARY - JAN 1, 2013
750ml bottle. It is a very sweet and fruity ale with tipical citric, yeastly odour. Taste is sweet with some hop and smoke, so you can feel at the end dried fruits, strawberry and so on. Body is strong, texture is oily and sticky, finish is long lasting. Foam is typical for an alcoholic ale (little and quick disappearing). CO2 is quite low for a champagne like beer, i think. High price is the cause i took ’low’ points for the overall.
