Decent brown. It has a good palate. Moderately roasted and also some sweet malt, this seems like a winter beer. Sweet grain finish. deyholla (11599) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 3, 2015
Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours a clear brown with a slight amber hue and a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread with some nuttiness and a hint of toffee. Flavor has sweet dark grains, bread and a decent amount of nuttiness.

Amber colour with no head. Aroma is roasted malt, hop, caramel. flavour is roasted malt, hop, sugar, caramel, nuts. Medium body. Ordinary beer. Braudog (6712) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - SEP 2, 2014
Draft at the brewpub. I’m generally not a huge brown ale fan, but it may be an underutilized style, and this is the best I’ve had in a long time. Big thick and quality, rich with toffee and toast, a fitting end to a rainy day of beer drinking. (#5684, 8/29/2014) fonefan (49293) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 24, 2014

[ As Canal Park Nut Hatchet Brown ].
Clear medium brown color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light chocolate, light nutty, light brown sugar. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, nutty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
Chocolate malts, bit of roastiness, nuts, and a dry aftertaste. Easy to drink, not bad! Ericular (1019) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Mildly roasted malts in the aroma. Taste follows suit with a sweeter mild roast up front, then into a more moderate lingering roast with some cocoa bitterness.
