This amazing beer combines the best of all worlds. Five specialty malts and three superior hop varieties have been carefully chosen from the Pacific Northwest, the U.K. and Europe. The malted barleys and hops create a rich, traditional porter. The addition of all natural pure blackberry provides an exciting complexity to this easy sipping wonder. Lean back, relax and savour the flavour!

Smooth and clean, the fruit is mild but certainly present, the dominant flavour but in perfect proportion. I would like to see the beer a little more silky and full. 750ml bottle from Sobeys.

UXO (1896) - CANADA - SEP 27, 2016
Appearance: clear ruby to deep brown with two fingers of rocky beige head, excellent retention and well-defined lacing. (5/5) Aroma: blackberry, roasty malts, chocolate and coffee, light booziness. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate bitter, mild tart. (6/10) Medium-full body, soft carbonation, sweet and lightly boozy mild tart and bitter finish. (3/5) Might be thornless, but it sure as hell ain’t sugarless. Think chocolates filled with blackberry liqueur and you’re getting pretty close. But, other than being way too sweet, it’s not terrible. It doesn’t actually taste artificial, and the berry flavours work well with the chocolate, for pretty much the same reason people make berry-filled chocolates. It all ends up being a bit of a mess in the finish, though, with sweet, bitter, tart, and alcohol all fighting it out for dominance. I’m not sure what to suggest to fix that, actually, but I wouldn’t say no to another while I thought about it, so there you go. (14/20)

On tap at Central City Pub. Pours a deep brown amber. With a beige head. Aroma is rosted malt with berries and some chocolate notes. Taste is berry notes, roasted malt and even some cheeze on the background. Burnt malt aftertaste. Very good.

Sweet blackberries in the aroma, backed by thin hops. Lightly malty in the flavor, with a fairly light well carbonated body. It’s okay. Not likely a beer I would pick up again.

Dark brown color with tons of ribena and roster malt character. Very simple.

Draft - Chocolate and blackberry, just like the chocolates. Jet brown with a light brown head. Just as it smells with a hint of boozy sweetness in the finish. Think those alcohol filled dark chocolate cups. Not my thing, but exactly as advertised.

Excellent dark porter with a blackberry aftertaste. It has a large head when poured. It has a hint of chocolate and coffee. My favourite beer for the past 3 years.

Draft 10 oz pour at the Red Racer. Pours a purple to tinted black with an active fizz head. Slightly sour grape candy, mixed berry aroma and flavor. Chocolate raspberry candy bar flavor and finish. Jammy. Quite tasty for sure.

Nice colour - a tint of purple which is cool. Flavour is lacking a little but still get some blackberry coming through.

Bottle. Poured a thin layer of brownish head. Has a dark appearance, a somewhat purplish hue. Good lacing. Creamy mouthfeel. Blackberry flavours are abundant as well as roasted malts, barley, spices, subtle coffee notes, grapes. Yum. Getting barley type aromas, spices and hints of vanilla. very strong on first drink but settled in after a couple more. Would try again.
