Courtesy of savvy1982. Pours mahogany with a creamy off white head. Smells of raisins, spice, earthy. Tastes of nuts, caramel, earthy.

Cirrhosis (1283) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 3, 2009
Dark, dark ,dark brown body barely any light penetrates through when held up to the light. Just the tiniest skiff of bubbles was produced when pored into my glass. Fantastic aroma, dark roasted malts, smooth milk chocolate, hazel nuts, and maybe just a touch of coffee; very rich decadent smell. Creamy smooth taste dominated by chocolate, hazel nuts, a roasted malts it’s over all a sweet tasting beer that leaves a milk chocolate aftertaste. The mouth feel is full but maybe a touch flat. I was surprised by the non bitterness of this beer, its diffently what I would call a desert beer and reminded me more of a porter or a weak sweet stout then a brown ale, but I enjoyed it allot."

VertBaconStrips (2390) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - MAY 30, 2009
Dark brown with dark orange and an average off-white head. Appeared quite clear. Yummy aroma of strong stinky coffee, sweaty feet. Sour. Flashbacks of dank basements. The smell gets even less appealing after it begins to warm. Tastes fake and plasic with peat moss. A soft watery chemical bitterness with a powerful harsh aftertaste. The bad beer breath compares only to Doritos Zezty Cheese in awfulness.

hobbersr (690) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 14, 2009
Pours a dark brown, almost red with a nice one inch head that is tan coloured. Aroma is of caramel, molasas, red berries, chocolate cake, and a nutty end of the nose. Tastes very acidic, like an off batch acidic. Very astringent red berries and little needles on the palate carbonation. This has gotta be a bad batch. Rerate pending...

Maybe this one is a bit off but I think it tastes very sour and acidic. Not what I was expecting at all. The aroma is nice and it looks great. But the flavour is very offensive. If I ever have it again it may deserve a re rate. But it is a little hard to say.

650ml Bottle - Pours a nice brown, great head, lacing, and retention. Lots of molasses in the aroma with some roasted malts. Flavour is initially hoppy, makes way for that molasses and burnt sugar. Not bad at all!

Tan head with little staying power. Bit of burnt chocolate and hazelnut aroma. Nutty sweetness on the palate with a medium body and mouthfeel, no in your face effervescence. Hops are fairly understated and scarcely make an appearance. Unremarkable brown ale, but still wouldn’t refuse a glass if i was in the mood.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 [999-20071223] 650mL (w/ GregClow, jerc). Aroma has a bit of wheaty grains. Clear, dark red mahogany body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head. Medium body. A little boring but seems like a velvety soft ale. (6/3/6/3/11) 2.9

[4603B-20120708] 650mL bottle. Mild nutty toasted grains aroma. Clear, dark amber brown-hued body with a quick foamy off-white head. Nutty grains flavour has a sweet finish. Medium body. Nice, simple. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

Living near the brewery, I taste this one often. Draft is noticeably tastier than canned or bottled IMO. At best, head is good, foamy almond. Pleasant vanilla-chocolate aroma. Flavour is dark nutty with note of chocolate - brewer imports Belgian malt - rich creamy body. Hard to balance this much flavor without making a malt liquor. Nice bitter finish. Drinks nicely room temp. or chilled.
