Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Brown color with red shades. Nice aroma of caramelized nuts, maple syrup. Dry mouthfeel, but good flavor of dark caramel, roasted nuts, chestnut honey; correct bitterness; more roasted nuts in the end. Balanced and well brewed.

harrisoni (18800) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2006
Bottle from BC Liquor Store, Vancouver. Reddish brown with thin beige head. Very malty. Some liquorice. Syrupy malt. Finish has more syrupy malt. Bit one dimensional.

mcberko (18056) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2010
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours dark brown. Aroma of mild nuts. Flavour of nuts, roasted malt and some caramel. Pretty weak, but still alright.

Oakes (17813) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 2, 2003
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2006 Bright red-tinged brown; sweet nutty aroma, some raisin bread. Sweet bready notes, brown sugar. Sweet finish. Straightforward and somewhat light. Rerate in May ’06 yields a similar sentiment and a slight reduction in score due to lower appearance score (no head).

Ferris (15889) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 19, 2015
Bottle - Caramel malts and nutty note. Dark copper with a rich beige head. Light malty notes, caramel and slight nutty notes. A decent beer for sure, but nothing particularly interesting.

Lubiere (13941) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 3, 2004
Clear deep brown with milk chocolate aroma and earthy overtones. Sweet malts with Nutella and chocolate, but not much hops. Good body but would be better with more floral hops added. Thanks to Piscator.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2012 2012-07-08. Dark mahogany brown body witha modest beige head. 3+ Flavour is nicely malty, sweet, nutty toasty malt accents. Just enough bitterness to balance it. Mildly nutty toasty malt aroma. Average plus to medium bodied palate. 3+ pretty solid take on the style. 7/4/7/3/15-16 - 3.6 Bottle shared by Radek 2007-12-24. Very dark brown body with a small tan head. (3+) Muted aroma of malt, lightly toasty. Similar flavour with light nutty accents, toasty malt and moderate caramel. Average palate. A quaffable but unremarkable take on the style. 6/3/6+/3/12 - 3.0 Bottle, source not recorded.
