Bottle. Clear bright golden with a frothy white head that collapses to a thin but persistent cap. Orange of orange blossom honey, sweet grain and cut grass. Medium bodied. Flavour starts out quite simply, with the nondescript malt-hop balance expected from the style, but it opens up quite a bit as it warms, and the hops in particular really develop some great and relatively complex character - orange peel, mint, lemon balm and sweet summer grass are all part of the mix, and more besides. If I was rating purely to style, I’d have to ding it a bit based on the hops coming on so strongly in what should be a primarily malt-forward beer. But in this case I’ll let personal taste trump tradition - it’s a good beer, and it deserves a good score. XaenDovet (1282) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 16, 2013

Bomber. Clear bright golden yellow, big persistent foamy white head slowly settles into a lasting creamy cap. Mild aroma of lager malt and herbal hop. Fresh and lightly bitter taste of grassy hops and biscuit malts, some faint citrus and spice. carbonation is a little too soft, light body, lightly hopped. Clean and refreshing, dry finish. Holy monkey tits is this a clear beer. Beautiful. Bit light for a bock, but the taste and aroma are spot on. Lovely spice flavour on the nose. Band is alright.

More in the Band Beer series that’s apparently just been released. Never heard of this band but hey, so far the series’ beers have been darned tasty. Pours with a very solid white head and has a nice crystal golden body with good carbonation floating up into the head. Refreshing aroma of orange, dandelion, with slight hazelnut notes. Flavour is a rather eclectic mix of malt and cloying wheat with a perfumy end. Medium finish. Probably good for the style but I was hoping for a little more complexity; however it’s quite drinkable nonetheless.
