Bottle, LCBO. Amber pour, huge fluffy white head with orange tints. Dusty malt aroma - really reminded me of a grain silo (don’t asked - I played a lot in grain silo’s on a farm when I was a kid). For that it gets extra points for helping me reconnect with my youth :) . Hint of smoke in there as well. Grainy, smokey taste. A bit sweet, no hint of the warming alcohol I expect in a Scotch Ale. Actually, that smoke really kicks in the the lingering finish - lasts a long time. A bit thin and not complex but better than I was lead to believe - solid brewery from my limited exposure so far.
Bottle. Pours a brown copper, thin white head, no lace. Nose is sweet , caramel, fruity, and a little off metallic scent. Tastes thin and rather smoky off the start, it’s really not good. There’s a sweetness, but I’m thinking this isn’t the way it normally should taste. CRock (238) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 11, 2015
Not a big fan of this. Kind of smells like a can of fresh tennis balls...and that?s the highlight. a_sully (457) - - AUG 30, 2015
Cloudy golden brown body with a light thin head. Aroma is sweet with some caramel and grain notes, though quite faint. Taste is sweet butterscotch caramel throughout.

Aroma is a rich roasty maltiness which has slight whiskey cask scents. Light caramel and butterscotch aswell. Taste is a medium rich malt body. Again butterscotch and caramel notes, getting some vanilla and rye here aswell. Very oale bitterness on finish. Appearance is a clear bronze body with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with a thin off-white head. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Sweet flavour of malt, caramel and a hint of smoke with a slightly dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Well brewed. BrewGoblin (632) - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, CANADA - MAY 31, 2014
A fine lil’ pooch lads, fine indeed. A dark tanned Scottish man with a decent white hat. Smoke, wood, earth, caramel and leather in the scent and taste. A bit of a butterscotch basement but nothing wrong with that in this case. I wish the texture was as thick as a Scottish beard though, t’is a wee bit thin.
