June 18, 2010. 650ml bottle shared by blankboy with me, gregclow, jerc & mabel. Thin-looking reddish black with a small tan frothy dimishing head. Slightly vegetal generic "Canadian" grain aroma, like grassy sweetened coffee. Light taste to it, a bit sour, only mid-level roast, more grainy than anything - my notes say something like "a nice scotch ale" which makes no sense, oh well. Light mouthfeel, a bit syrupy, undercarbonated, and quick-finishing. But for all that, surprising easy to drink, and very much inoffensive. blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 14, 2010
My bottle [650ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel. Pours a very deep ruby-brown with a small frothy tan head. Aroma has lots of coffee along with light chocolate, roasted malt and a hint of hops. Flavour of cold coffee, also malty and milky and with some light hops. Creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. Pretty good, I liked it. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 10, 2010
[2907-20100618] 650mL bottle. Espresso coffee bean aroma has hints of grass, dog poop, and toasted dirt. Murky, brown black body with a medium-lasting creamy light brown head. Wooden toasted spent coffee grounds flavour has a long aftertaste that faintly hints at diaper poop. Medium-full body. Very interesting, surprisingly drinkable with all that weirdness going on.

2010-06-18. Back body with a modest brown head. 3+ Aroma of watery espresso. 6+ Flavour is similar, bitter espresso, mild hints of dry cocoa. 6+ Average palate. Decent, but not to my tastes. The underlying beer does not seem to offer much to compliment the espresso. Bottle shared by Blankboy JHunter (676) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 21, 2010

I know they just released this one again a couple of days ago, but these notes are from a 1 year old bottle courtesy CapFlu. The body is dark brown, the head thin. The aroma is largely chocolatey, with the espresso notes coming in more as nuance. This is surprising a little bit - given how intensely roasty and oily Habit’s espresso is - but it could also be the effects of aging talking. Sweet body is a bit oily, as one would expect. The beer is mostly a fine sugar note, lots of chocolate, and the espresso comes through with a late flourish. After a year, this beer is definitely well-rounded and the espresso is by no means harsh. That said, no individual component stands out and I would characterize the beer as better than the sum of its parts. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 5, 2009
Bomber, thanks to Bob for yet another one! Poured deep, copper-tinted cola brown with a short cap of tan head. The aroma picked up a delectable blend of well-roasted coffee, toasty dark chocolate, and vanilla.. just excellent. The flavor didn’t take many steps back.. the same components as the nose were present, joined by rich molasses character and rolled oats.. some coffee and a touch of earthy bitterness around.. the finish was relatively quick, but carried through tasty chocolate and coffee. Medium-bodied, roasty, and toasty on the palate with a touch of sourness present.. a touch fuller and it would’ve been a 4 (palate and OA). I’d love to drink more of this. [Bottle, thanks for sharing, Skyview!] Pours dark brown with a good tan head. Aroma is pretty one-dimensional, with just a blast of coffee. Taste is also dominated by coffee, but there was also a hint of chocolate present. A little thin, but a very long finish due to the coffee. This was pretty simple, but for what it is, it isn’t bad. Thanks to Skyview. Dark brown pour with a thin cream tan head. Fresh ground coffee bean nose. Thin bodied. Roasted malt comes out in the flavor along with the coffee. Some sweet hint of hop as well.
