Pretty tasty if quite sweet porter. Some nice chalk dryness to offset the brown sugar vibes...decent.

doesn’t look like much of a porter but it definitely smells and tastes like one. Very nice. At the Foundry

Grumbo (3107) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - MAR 12, 2017
Cask at the 29th Chappel Beer Festival. Poured amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, toffee, nut and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness and roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight sticky texture, soft to flat carbonation.

Leighton (21490) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2016
Cask at the Foundry. Pours unclear amber-brown with a frothy, off-white head. The aroma holds light roast, toffee, burnt nuts, earth. Light sweet flavour with semi-dark malts, touches of leathery fruits, raisins, prunes, faint toast. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finaihes with more ripening berries, subtle earthy bitterness, toasted mats, faint toffee. So so overall.

My Bottom Line:
Toasted and chocolate malts develop hazelnuts and roasted bitterness in this otherwise flatlining Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-There is no head of foam atop the reddish brown.
-Mouthfeel is round but mostly lifeless.
-Malt flavors are interesting throughout.
-The two cask beers I tasted here on this visit were easily the worst tendered casks on the entire month-long UK-Ireland trip.

On cask at the brewpub.

TBone (17699) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 6, 2016
Cask at brewpub, Canterbury. Dark ruby color, mostly vanishing head. Chocolaty, toasted aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Quite flat. Chocolaty, earthy flavor. Not very lively cask. Sweetish porter.

Draft @ The Foundry, Canterbury. Dark brown colour, thin beige head. Roasty with notes of coffee. Bit watery and weak but ok.

Doesn’t really stand out from any other porter - But there is a hint of "olde" style in there

greenmanalishi (551) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2015
Pours an amber brown with small head. Cocoa, milk, roastiness, dry finish and medium texture.

evergreen0199 (3391) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 11, 2015
Cask at Ealing Beer Festival 2015, Ealing, London. A dark ruby brown coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Roasty, chocolate, dark fruit aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, chocolate, dark fruit. Decent porter.
