COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

750ml bottle, 2017. Pours clear golden, nice white head stays. Aroma is sour, fruity, citrussy, bit earthy. Taste is vinegary, green raw apples, some bitterness. Acid in aftertaste, dry. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Very nice gueuze, complex and well balanced between acid, sourness and fruitiness.

On tap in Rome. Pale golden headed lambic. Scent is dense lambic ale. Pears. Taste is sharp, quite bitter Gueuze with some properties of rice grain or something umami. Finish is a tiny bit sticky. Very good. A bit light. A bit strange.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2018 One of the best of the gueuzes around. High complexity and subtlety. Loads of fruits. High acidity, but it is softened by the oak. Very good.

Poured from 75 cl bottle (bottled 2011 - aged 6 years). Hazy orangey gold with small white head. Mild sour and acidic, good blend, an easy introduction to lambics - not too strong in any respect.

Flaska från Cantillon. Klar, ljusguldig med högt vitt skum. Ren och klar i doften med toner av äpplen, päron, gröna druvor, socker, stall, hästfilt och stenfrukt/kärnor. Lätt kropp som är både stram och pigg på samma gång. Mycket fatkaraktär. Smaken som doften. Fräsch och krispigt. Kommer inte riktigt upp i samma klass som 3 Fonteinens gueuze, men fortfarande gott!
