(2016) Really pretty in the glass. Nice head and texture. Tastes and smells like horses bottom. Cool. Suprisingly hoppy. A bit a bit to bitter in the finish. beskid (254) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - SEP 14, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 Hazy orange color, almost no head. Super funky aroma, leather, lactic notes. Taste is medium sour, rather dry, from a bit malty to very tart. Notes of lemon skin, green apples, wine, oak, vinegar. Dry tart finish with more vinegar. Excellent. TH28 (472) - - SEP 9, 2017
750ml bottle. 1/18/17 bottle date. Appearance: Clear golden color with a pillowy white head and decent lacing
Aroma: Strong funky brettanomyces character up front, lead by hay and horse blanket. A touch off grass, then the acidity pops up in the background, with apple cider vinegar notes.
Taste: Starts with a light crackery malt sweetness before a bracing acidic tartness and bitterness, lemon peel, and light brett funk. Bready maltiness and brett notes emerge retronasally. Even some blue cheese
Mouthfeel: Fairly light bodied with a high carbonation
Finish: Dry and surprisingly bitter, with a lingering acidic lemon tartness. Funky blue cheese is there retronasally.
Overall: An amazingly complex beer. Brettanomyces dominates the aroma, and the flavor profile shows off the bracingly tart acidity. A surprising amount of bitterness here and the lemon peel like acidic bitterness/tartness counterbalances throughout. Very crisp beermastersasho (124) - - SEP 4, 2017
Nice aroma. Taste is sour, bitter, hay. Good with cheese, fruits... I really dont know how people become crazy for these beers! And they are even ready to trade a rare imperial russian stout for this kind of beer. Is it so rare in America?
It is fresh. Zilverenmaan (262) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - SEP 3, 2017
Aroma very funky, peppery, acidic, complex. Taste funky, less acidic, aftertaste bitter rather than acidic, some vinegar. Very wine-like. Some sweet notes, hints of vanilla even. Bit of an off- taste to it ( the cork, tannines,... ? ), not disturbing though. Mouthfeel very soft, poor gently. Quality.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2017 Leicht trübes Goldgelb mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Leicht säuerlich, grüne Äpfel, etwas Zitronenschale, Apfelessig, leicht trocken. Parmenion777 (341) - Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2017
Bottle, pours a hazy apricot yellow colour with a near white head which quickly dissipated to a film. Aroma is sour fruits, cider vinegar, champagne and barnyard funk. Moderately tart and acidic, some sour fruit, cider apple and barnyard funk with a crisp dry finish. thejackpacker (575) - East Sussex, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2017
Bottle from brewery. This was actually the 2006 Gueze from Cantillon. Couldn’t find it on the rate beer account so just putting it here. Beautiful golden colour and a real grower. It is a sublime beer. SG111 (1968) - New York, USA - AUG 12, 2017
Bottle from the source. Thanks, Jane! Pours clear opaque yellow orange, white head. Aroma is funky tart vinegar, apple juice, lambicy. Flavor is vinegar, tart funk, sour, kinda bitterness to it. Carbonated fairly heavily but not unduly so. Solid and quality is undeniable. But doesn’t blow my mind. Tasty overall with a surprisingly bitter finish
