Fresh sour cherries (krieken) in two year old Lambiek. We use approximately 300 gr cherries for 1 liter Kriek. The second fermentation in the bottle is obtained through addition of a liqueur, made with beer and saccharose.

Bottle from the dick rider himself, smitty. Somehow he was able to get me a 2004 bottle for next to nothing. I think he did a little under the desk work, if you know what i mean. Pours out a bright red color with a pink head on it. Smells like cherries and oak / wood. (not surprising). Taste is sweet and has almost a weird spice to it, that goes away after your mouth gets used to it. Very smooth, and almost refreshing without being overly sour. Good stuff, Id like to have more.

Nice red colour with a small pinkish head. Nose is pure fruits, real kriek. Taste is pure fruit too, thick kriek taste, hints of wood, bit dry. It doesn't happen much that I like Kriek beers so much. Really lovely. Maybe it was the good company.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2017 (2014) Oh man this is impressive. It so intensively fruity (like a fresh cherry pick from the ground and squashed). Great carbonation, wonderful tart to sour palate. Beautiful.

Bardzo wyraźna, delikatna wiśnia, dość dzikie, ale kwaśność na w miarę niskim poziomie, pyszne kandyzowane wiśnie z muśnięciem taniny i wanilii, gładkie i swietnie ułożone, rewelacja.

Very sour cherry aroma. Taste is sharp acidity with pure cherry juice. Puckering palate. Aftertaste is nice cherry.

750 mL bottle at the brewery. This is stark red with pink head. Aroma is acked with funky barn, pepper, fruit vinaigrette with soft and genuine cherry notes. That's not too say the cherry isn't way up front, but it's noticeably mellower with its age. Oak is constantly in the background while tart cherry pie flavors take over. Excellent level of acidity makes this refreshing.

Pours hazy deep burgundy with low purple head. Aroma of cherries, almond icing, red berries, red grapes. Taste is medium cherry tart with a mild sweet berry finish. Light and crisp body with average carbonation.

Review for 2007 vintage:
Pours ruby, not as deep as 2013, with slightly pink head.
Aroma has lots of dusty cellar, tart, barnyard, red berries, funky.
Taste is a lot like the aroma, more sweetness than the aroma, red berries, barnyard, jam.

750ml bottle shared at epic Cantillon tasting. Aroma: intense cherry, light vinegar, light cinnamon, quite funky, horse blanket. App: dark red purple-ish, small pink head leaving great lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, lots of cherries, moderate acidity finish. Overall: pretty good. Acidity is over the top but it's surprisingly not that hard to drink. And the look of this one is really great!
