3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served on-tap at Churchkey on Zwanze day 2012.
A - Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with a small half finger tall bubbly white head, dissipating down to nothing at all, leaving no lace at all down the glass.
S - Smell is pretty muted until it fully warms up. Hints of funky cheese, damp oak, basement must, some lemon zest and a dash of vinegar.
T - Starts off with a big sour kick that fades as quickly as it hit you leaving behind hints of lemon zest, musty funk, dry oak and a dash of booze burn. Finish is funky with a moderate amount of dryness, doesn’t stick around too long tho.
M - Light with very light carbonation. Its has a tart feel but it does’t linger for very long, allowing it to be consumed quite easily.
O - I feel like this is exactly what an unblended two year old lambic should taste. Sure its a little rough around the edges, but thats why its perfect for blending and fruit additions. I am glad I got to try this, I look forward to having it again one day, hopefully a little closer to the source.

From the pitcher at the source (18 months old). Pours golden. Aroma is sour, dry, fruit, booze. Flavor is mild sourness, oak, bitterness, fruits. Finish is dry bitter. Overall: very good, I like the dryness. NordicV (2410) - Malmö, Sweden, SWEDEN - AUG 20, 2017

Brussels Trip. Backlog. Leather, barnyard, wet wood, hints of yellow fruits, vinegar. Light sour, heavily tannic. huineman (726) - Madrid, SPAIN - AUG 12, 2017
Tasting at Cantillon of this Bruocsella-to-be, aged only 18 months, from a pitcher directly out of the barrel. Pours slightly cloudy pale golden, some green hues. No bubbles, no head. Aroma is quite high: honey, quince, peach, cider, green apple, candy, bread... Taste is bone-dry, zero carb. Pungent, sour (indeed), not a hint of bitterness. Long finish with hints of green chili pepper. Quite good, if you ask me.

MartyW (282) - DENMARK - MAY 26, 2017
18 month lambic directly from the barrel at Cantillon. Dusty, barnyard, funky barley. Taste is dusty barley turning to roasty oak. Tart finish. Good
