Bottle - Light hazy deep golden body with a large white head; Excellent nose the warmer sharper Bourbon aromas fits the Geuze fruits very well; Excellent body, smooth, soft with a very crisp carbonation, balanced and pleasant; Sour arrives with the finish, a little to oak tannic. Very very good!

Fantastic appearance with a very large, white head showing good retention. Good clarity throughout the flaxen-golden, copper-tinged liquid.
The nose is immediately plagued with green pepper and it just would not let up. I let my glass sit well over an hour and kept coming back to it, but nothing. I can only guess the dry-hopping has gone awry here, which is a dirty shame, as the beer itself is absolutely fantastic and in wonderful condition. Moderate sourness, very low on acetic character and lending lots of brett and playful fruitiness. The bourbon is not actually noted, nor is the beer overly tannic. No alcohol or flaw (other than the green pepper).
In the mouth, unfortunately, the green pepper remains and though itís not like the green pepper you get from coffee beer infections, it still is very dominant for such a delicate beer. Oranges, nectarines, playful brett notes and light lactic acid all play about the wonderfully light, yet tightly carbonated palate. Lingering moderate acidity, with tons of orange rind, and light yogurt. A great dryness and yet still supple with perhaps some help from the barrel tannin. Yet no bourbon here to speak of, thankfully. Only moderate on the funk scale, yet still in wonderful shape and very delicious. Stupid dry hops....Still, I donít see much reason in lowering the score due to some dry hops that went bad.
Golden, hay. So much whisky in the nose. Smooth, funk, and more whisky, oak, vanilla. So good, wish this was in their regular lineup. GrumpyOldTroll (61) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2016
A light golden color with a thin head. The aroma is wood and whiskey. Moderate mouthfeel and quite tart. Very good beer. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2016
375 ml bottle at Pikkulintu in early August, big thanks to Timo for seemingly making an exception and letting me purchase this to share with my lady! 2009 cork; 1 barrel ever made, according to the bartender. Remarkably clear, only slightly opaque, pour, with a small but excitable head. Whiskey barrel is very evident on the nose, with vanilla and cinnamon shining boldly on top of musty funk and barnyard hay character. Fascinating and utterly captivating flavor profile, with sweet vinous white grape, bosc pear, bright, tart, early fall apple, and apricot. Still tart, but holy shit is this good. One of the best beers Iíve ever tried.

Tap @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Pours a hazy, dark yellow with a small, white head. Aroma is sour, some oak, leather, whiskey, fairly sweet. Whiskey is pretty strong. Taste is sour with appleskin, vinegar. Begins with a lot of oak and whiskey, but that disappears in the middle. Strong sourness. Whiskey shows up in the aftertaste again. Fairly light, fairly strong carbonation. Saliva-inducing as these proper lambics tend to be. Delicious. RexTalionis (3729) - FINLAND - NOV 19, 2014
Draught. Pours unclear golden in color with a whitish head. Quite intensive wooden notes at first, also some sour fruits and tartness mixed with some grainyness is present aromawise. Bit of funkyness too, even if itís quite mild on this front though. Itís tart with some sour berries and apples in taste, but yet it feels smooth, perhaps the barrel aging is behind this one as the wooden notes are there in aftertaste as well. Crisp finish though. Bottle @ Patís. Thanks, Jer! Clear golden pour with white foam. Smells kind of corked. A fairly typical aroma for an old Cantillon lambic. Lemon, grass, straw, and must. Thereís a decent amount of oak and vanilla, though. Flavor is much different than I would have anticipated. A lot of bourbon, graham cracker, and vanilla. Still, somewhat sour, but sort of restrained. Lemons and a musty, damp funk of straw and grass. Perhaps a touch on the sweet side. Very different from what Iíve tasted before and what I expected. manker (75) - SWEDEN - MAY 14, 2014
Two bottles (!) @ Pikkulintu. Fantastic bourbon aroma and flavor where the vanilla, bourbon and lambic sour merge perfectly. Citrus and some floral tones. The right amount of booziness and a great experiment which has aged really well. Lucky to have been given two bottles and would love to have it again.
