COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Poured from a 75cl bottle. Aged 1.5 years (June 05th, 2011 - Dec 25th, 2012). Pinkish-red hue with minimal white head. Sweet and sour raspberry nose, a little acidic and spicy. Very nice, light with some tartness. Not overpowering or too sugary, very natural tasting. Excellent sample of a lambic.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2017 Kolor różowy, klarowne. W aromacie stajnia, siano, malina i kwaśność. W smaku więcej dzikości, obory, konia - maliny w tle. W posmaku pojawia lekka pestkowa tanicznosc.

2016 release: pours ruby red, hazy with pink-ish dissipating foamy head. Aroma: raspberries, funk, leather, old books, grapes, wine vinegar, vanillin. Flavor follows aroma: sour raspberries, funk, grapes, wine vinegar, vanillin, woody tannins, dry, slight sweet-sourish finish. Light body, soft texture, lively carbonation.

Looks beautiful crimson, especially after the head has gone. Aroma and taste mostly sour, some funk to add depth combined with a gentle, sour-sweet taste of raspberries. Very well balanced: definately not too sweet, raspberries adding taste and complexity rather than being overwhelming, not too sour either. Very enjoyable.

Bottle - Pours an opaque pinkish red colour with a frothy pink head that quickly settled with a lovely tart raspberry and funk aroma. A complex taste, acidic and yet sweet, subtle sour notes combined with a raspberry sweetness and a dryness in the finish. Best fruit lambic I’ve tasted.

Bottle from brewery. It’s not every day / ever I give a 10 for aroma but jeez, this beer is like putting ur face in a wild raspberry bush. Just so delightful. It is also a dry delicious beer. Funny iron/ blood taste to this beer which I also found in others from them though.

Restrained aroma in a crimson pour. Lovely subtle sour flavor profile that makes a great companion to the cherry version. Both are excellent - but some prefer one to the other - I prefer to keep trying both.
