COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, - OCT 19, 2009
Bottle 375ml. Aged 18 months piror to tasting. Poured hazy bloody pink with an averaged sized, pink, frothy head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of acidic fruit with strong notes of musty wild yeast, sea water, cranberry juice, sour raspberries and fresh lemon juice. A very strong acidity in the flavor with sour yeasty notes, tart acidic fruit, sour cherries, fresh lemon juice, unripe cranberries, salty/brine-like notes and light notes of white-whine vinegar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry/tart mouthfeel, slightly syrupy texture and a long length finish.

Piwo kwasne, wytrawne. Prawdziwie owocowe. Bardzo dobre. Dzika malina all the way.

Bottle from jamesy, fresh from the continent. Beautiful reddish-purple color with an off white head. The fruit flavor is prominent, with raspberry jam coming to the front before the yeast funk kicks in. Long, funky/fruity finish.

Lambic uzyskany w wyniku macerowania swiezych malin w dwuletnim Lambiku. 200g/l
Data waznosci: 13.03.2017
Kolor: Czerwony. Intensywny malinowy kolor.
Smak: W smaku intensywnie kwasne, nafaszerowane do granic mozliwosci swiezymi malinami. Jest tez czerwona porzeczka i leciutki rabarbar. W drugim podejsciu wyczuwalne nuty stajenne, wiejskie. Jest tez odrobina ziemi i mokre zboze. Po kilku lykach kubki smakowo przyzwyczajaja sie do tego cierpkiego stanu rzeczy i zaczynaja bardziej skupiac sie na owocowej stronie trunku. Po ogrzaniu mozna wyczuc dlugi posmak tanin. Wysycenie srednie do wysokiego. Odczucie w ustach wytrawne, bardzo przyjemne. Klasa!
Wysycenie: Wysokie.
Podsumowanie:
Absolutny MUST HAVE dla kazdego Beer Geeka.

Aromat: mocny i intensywny, mocne stajenne nuty, swieze, cierpkie owoce, maliny. 7/4/7/4/15

Kauge (1958) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 17, 2017
Had it a while ago on tap at BrewDog Tallinn. Lovely colour. Delicate - i.e. not the jammy kind of - raspberry, plus a bit of funkiness; difficult to get anything else from here. Not too tart, sweetness not over the top. Prickly. Dryish and somewhat acidic. Good.

Pours red, clear, very nice head. Wild aroma, subtle raspberry, red fruits but mainly barn, leather, lambic aromas. Dry, complex and sophisticated taste. Medium body, average carbonation, refreshing and crisp.

Drank with Kaspar and Lennart @ Piet Huisman 14-07-17. Had trouble locating the ’richness’, fruity aspects. Quite uncompromising sour, and bitter (but not too heavy) in it.
