(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy reddish with a rather handsome, pinkish head. Markedly sour aroma. Very sour flavours with typical Cantillon barnyard notes - this is like red wine vinegar with some fruityness. 120106

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2014 Bottle. Pours a hazy, maroon-ruby with a fine, off-white head. Pungent, sour aroma with some ripe fruit notes. Very sour flavor rife with cherries and grapes, along with strong acidity and mild funkiness. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with mild sweetmess and lip-puckering sourness. Very good stuff. (August 2010, Score: 4.0)

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. Sunday Tasting, thanks to Matt. Beautiful red-purple pour with a light, pink head. So fresh it’s scary. Grape character is there but mild. Medium sweet flavor. Mild sweat. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Crisp but mellow sour finish. Just unreal drinkable. So refreshing. (September 2012, Score: 4.4)

Bottle split with Bruce and Colin at De Heeren van Liedekercke - Denderleeuw, Belgium. Vintage 2004. Pours mostly clear red with a fine, white foam head. Great stuff. Damn sour, with lots of richly tangy berries. Light bodied with prickly average carbonation. Cleansing finish with lots of refreshing, sour berry character. Lovely. (March 2013, Score: 4.3)

Bottled in 2005. Cloudy dark red with a diminishing pink head. Aroma is sweet, moderate sour, grapes and earthy. Flavor is medium sweet, rather sour and moderate acidic. Dry and acidic finish. 230611

Cloudy burgundy red color, with too much carbonation initially, but no head after a short while. Aroma of country wine (rough), some vinegar, light cheese. Dry mouthfeel, very sour, with some red wine notes that are pleasant, and some late astringency. Interesting, although not very harmonious (maybe so is the kegged version).

2004-07-03, brewed 1995, bottled 1999, 9 years old, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Hazy copper color, poor head. Being 9 years old, the fruit character is almost gone, but the Lambic core is a real one, very aggressive, citrusy, tarty, woody; nevertheless it also shows a reasonably good malty line (more than usual); very long acid final.

Hazed light crimson with a pinky white head that clears edgeward then retains.
Nose is grapes, light raspberries, woody, tarte berry fruits, light smoke, dank wood, grandads shed.
Taste is dry berry fruits, red grape skins, woody tones, light sugars, tarte and soured berry, light fruit balsams.
Medium in body, soft and still on the palate, dry finish.

saxo (19530) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2012 Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is reddish dark amber. Aroma is fresh and citric. Taste is sweet with grapes but also has some acidity. Original rating Oct 28th 2006 6/2/6/2/11. Rerated May 16th 2012 8/3/9/4/18.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2010 Bottle at Ealing Beer Festival 2008. Thanks to Maria/Renffisch for this one. Hazy raspberry colour with thin pink head. Lambic farmyard aroma, some red wine grape. I mean I try to like Cantillon beers, but they are just too acidic, very good lemon and some red wine cherry fruit flavuor, but too acidic. Does have nice cherry aftertaste though and extraordinary farmyard/acidity. 3.3/5.0 Re-rate at the new Moeder Lambic. Hazy deep red. Very red wine grape on aroma. Lovely fruit in mouth. Lovely linger on finish, really good red wine finish. Lovely.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2017 750mL bottle, split 4 ways, pours an opaque purplish dark red with virtually no head. Aroma is intense sourness, loads of funk, dry unsweetened rotting grapes and yeast. Flavour is very puckering in sourness, with loads of very tart, dry red grapes, lots of barnyard funk, no sweetness, and red wine qualities. Very complex, dry, intensely sour and drinkable. Delicious.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2011 Cloudy, rhubarb-red with no head. You can see the effervescent through the fog. Heroically cheesy aroma with vinous accents, must and leather. Sweet and vinous up front, quickly turning sour, barrelly, musty, leathery. The burgundy keeps up throughout the palate, lending it a lot of refreshing quality and style as that character really blends well with the acidity of the base lambic. That vinous sweetness and lush fruitiness might make this the most quaffable Cantillon out there. Very good lambic.

Bottle. Red/pink color, small pinkish head. Sour, sourish aroma, fruity, rasp berries, grapes. Sour fruity flavor, fresh strawberry notes, raspberries. Quite balanced.
