COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vigneronne is a blending muscat grapes and lambic, the brewers and beer merchants produced the "druivenlambik" (grapes lambic). White grapes soaked in lambic. The fructose, which abounds in these fruits, enables us to make a beer which is more mellow than the Gueuze or the other fruit beers. The spontaneous fermentation, the ageing in the barrels for several years and the addition of grapes make it a distant cousin of certain white wines. Changed name from Druivenlambik in 1987.

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Dated October 31st 2017. Aroma is tart muscat grapes with tart fruits, notes of sour green appes, white wine, peach, some apricot, and funky notes. Flavour is tart and medium sour with some sweetness from the grapes I presume. Body is medium, lovely smooth balance. The mellow character struck me at first, then this Lambic's subtle depth wowed me.

2011 bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Joe! Pours a clearish gold with almost no head. Strong white grape aromas with vinous notes and grape skins. Some earth and mineral notes as well. Smooth with good acidity balanced by grape flesh, grass, hay, cobwebs and light musty wood undertones. Would pair well with any number of foods. Very vinous on the palate, with some sherry like creaminess that leans into the finish. Lingering muscat acidity with oak and hay. Fantastic.

750 ml bottle shared by Adamchandler. Clear golden color, aroma is white funky grapes, oak, and a sweet hay hint. Flavor is really nice; it is acidic without being overly so. Oak, mild barnyard, and Chardonnay. Sour that is done proper. Subtle tartness with a light, crisp body. Pretty incredible.

Drank this 2006 bottle @ Cantillon. Funk and grapes, white grapes and more funk in aroma. Taste is mind blowing, still so fresh for such an old bottle. A tad harsh, fermented white grape skins, wine pits. Palate is suave and puckering at the same time. Aftertaste is sour and long-lasting. Absolute beauty.

750ml bottle at home as 'Cantillon Vigneronne', 6.5%, 13 months old. Pours fizzy orangeade with a quickly dissipating head, sparkling. Quite a vibrant shade but otherwise not that attractive. Aroma is pretty 'dirty' lambic with lots of old rotting wood, slightly sulphurous, wet football and leather set against grape, kiwi and citrus. Slight highlighter pen acetone later on. Body is quite fizzy yet smooth. Taste is tart blood orange, Lucozade, lightly acidic - quite restrained, some yellow plum and apricot with a grapefruit note and more tangy acidity, finishes like a semidry white wine. Overall, this is a good beer but one of the least impressive Cantillons I've tried. Considering the price and effort, this will be a one-off purchase. (7-3-7-3-15=3.5)
