Draught at Pikkulintu. Pours murky brown dark orange amber with minimum head. Notes of vinegar, sour, apples, very bitter at the beginning, floral. Taste is funky, bitter, sour. Kind of weird. Does not seem like an trippel.
September 14, 2013 - Zwanze Day at Bar Volo - on draught. Hazy peach-amber with a drool of bubbly off-white head, small lacing. Delicate aroma - sweet, melange of tart (green, yes) fruit, some alcohol. Taste is not delicate - tons of dry herbal bitterness, pushes the fruit back - it’s a bit lacto-sour rather than buggy ... not bad, a little out of kilter. Bottle at the brewpub. Pours foggy amber. Aroma is light booze, malty, almond. Body is medium, quite sweet, late bitterness, low carbonation, rather inharmonic. Palate is boozy and unbalanced too. Clearly not their best. BuckeyeBoy (7680) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 15, 2017

Bottle at cantillon, thanks random Americans! Pours cloudy yellow. Nose is wood, lemon, sour apple. Palate is oaky tart, white wine/white wine vinegar, some fruity notes. Good, but this came unexpected (especially because I thought I would be drinking a gueze..)

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with very small head. Aroma is fruity, light caramel, citric and lots of bretts. In taste fruity with toasted malt note, sour. Medium body, moderate carbonation, nice oily texture, tart and dry finish. ctipping (2056) - Florida, USA - SEP 17, 2016

Hazy orange body. Pushing reddish. Thin collar. Not much of a head.
Acidic aroma. Very musty. A little wine-like. Malty. Seems like a slight burnt caramel aroma too.
Bright sour flavor. Wine flavors persist here. White wine. Oak. Malty again. The burnt flavors are replaced by bitterness. Grassy bitterness in the finish.
The bitterness is off-putting, as it is very strong. Not crisp like most Cantillon beers.
The bar is set so high for Cantillon, so it’s tough to objectively judge this. It’s good but definitely not up to the standards of a Cantillon fruit lambic.
