*Old rating, best before 02.2011. Kräuterig-trocken. Frisch getreidig, ein paar Kräuternoten. Süffig, rund und weich. Lecker mit moderater Bitternote. Alengrin (5788) - BELGIUM - OCT 24, 2014
One-off made in 2009 for the first series of Tournée Générale, the Belgian television show in which Ray Cokes and Jean Blaute explore the Belgian beer map. Made with wheat malt, coriander and curaçao and in that sense clearly derived from the witbier style, but stronger and more ’barleyish’ - I’d classify it as a ’tarwedubbel’. Anyway: irregular, medium thick but stable, off-white head, warm orangey peach blonde colour with quiet fizz, clear but misty with deposit. Aroma does reveal the wheat, coriander and dried bitter orange peel, next to peaches, biscuit, minerals, something sweaty and something vaguely reminiscent of fish stock, but less disturbingly so than it sounds. Light fruit sweetishness in onset, minerally carbonation, dried orange peel and apple peel, light wheat sourishness with refreshing effect, nutty malts, medium full mouthfeel with dryish coriander effect in the middle as well as a bready yeast effect, powdery, floral hops in the finish with a very brief and late peppery tinge, malt sweetness lingers and alcohol also shows up (could be better hidden). Mediocre. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - JAN 21, 2014

BB 2010, but we took a shot.
Fruity aroma, subtle, icetea, peche, herbs.
Amber clear, no head, loads of little sparkles.
Sweet, fruity, apple, icetea peche.
A bit fizzy, light bodied, watery finish, slowly goes into a slight bitterness.
It was worth the shot!
Cork and caged 0.75cl brown bottle, best before May 2010, drank early April 2010. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 4, 2011
Brewed for a TV programme apparently.
Hazey, cloudy, amber/light terracotta body. A huge snow white sat on top, soon shrank to a thinner covering, but still a full covering with some heavy lacing on the glasses.
Herbs, hoppy, yeasts, malts, a good mix of smells, getting sweeter as the beer warmed.
Coriander and curaçao are used in the brew (hence the herbs in the smell?). I thought it a bit boring in flavour, dry yet with caramel hints. The body seemed flat, thin and weak, sadly unimpressed. For an unfiltered Belgian Pale Ale it lacked umph.
Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of grainy malts, yeast, and a touch of hops. Flavor was kind of lemony and herbal with some sweetness. Nisse666 (8112) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 25, 2011
