2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Fresh dough and floral aromas. It smells like the spring, which is sorely needed around here. Bright, fizzy yellow with minor head. Nice crisp bittersweet taste, really replicates the style pretty well. Very sessionable, as these things usually are. Will revisit this one in a month or two.
Pours an amber, somewhat malty, with a little bit of skunk. Bitter hop finish. Okay beer. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JUL 14, 2014

Most of the time this was poured into a pint glass but twice it was poured into a stange. There wasn’t any difference between the two.
The appearance had a gentle hazy golden color with a light transparency about it. There was a small white head that left some trickling lacing.
The smell had some light sweet German malts along with a light underscore of lemon and a touch of sweet corn.
The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light and had a good sessionability about it. The carbonation finishes somewhat harsh.
Overall, I say it holds itself to being a good American styled kolsch worthy of having again but considering where I live and the distro I don’t mind sticking with Alaskan’s Summer Ale.
On tap at the Summer Shack, Alewife. Looks OK: pale gold with a thin broken head. Aromas of sour fruit, mild hops.
Medium-high carbonation. Light body.
Flavours of sour hops, grapefruit, bread crust. Not what I was expecting, but fresh and light. More like a lager than an koelsh.

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden beer wit a decent offwhite head. Malty bready aroma, dough notes, fruity, some citrus. bready dough flavor, caramel ,citrus, hay, some spicy notes. Malty dough finish with some fruits. bavarian81 (157) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Smells of bready malt or biscuit or whatever that typical aroma is you get from a lot light colored german style beers. Appearance is light gold with a slightly cloudy body. Palate is a bit watered down. Taste is slightly fruity, slightly bitter. Overall, it lacks any strong flavor. This beer is not awesome....

Bottle. Seemed a bit heavy for a kolsch but over all an okay beer. There is a flavor in the malt profile of this brewery that I don’t really like. BreWedge (560) - goose bay, Newfoundland, CANADA - AUG 11, 2012
12 Fl Oz bottle @ Salty Dog Boston. Pours a thin hazy gold with a small white head and no lacing. Aroma is heavy malt/grain with a smidge of hop. Taste is essentially reflective of the aroma with the malts being slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is thin with with a little hop at the back end. Easy drinking but very unremarkable. puboflyons (3509) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 7, 2012
From the 12 fl. oz bottle. It pours a cloudy straw yellow with a fizzy white head that does not linger. I think I got a bad bottle because the aroma was skunked despite the brown bottle. Beyond the skunk I got a decent enough grainy character and a crisp hoppiness but the skunkiness threw everything off. The body was light. The taste had decent Kolsch grainy characters with the German malt flavors that I associate with Grolsch. I would like to try it again in the hopes that I might get a better bottle.
