Got lucky and had several 6ers of this one. It is without question much better when the weather is cold, than now when its hot. But I have enjoyed this beer very much. Lite tan blond appearance. Malty nose with some hints of alcohol. Great palate. The balance between the malt and hops are perfect. Malty flavors, not cloying in anyway. Nice clean finish.
This brewery makes good German beers. reebtogi (6267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 23, 2012
355ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that settles quickly and leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is pale malts with some mild hops and yeast. Taste is malty sweet with some yeast and a light hoppy bitterness. Alcohol is present in this medium bodied and highly carbonted brew. A pleasing mouthfeel is present and this beer is recommended for a good tasting experience. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - APR 18, 2012
4/18/12. 12oz bottle. Orange pour with particulates under a small khaki head. Sweet, malty aroma that actually does smell like a doppelbock - sweet, caramel, fruity, etc. Sweet, fruity flavor as well with caramel and light sugars. Not bad! BigSound (196) - New York, USA - MAR 17, 2012
Transparent golden amber, had about an inch of white head that receded pretty fast. Pretty visible carbonation.
Has a nice aroma of malt, light hop and maybe some green apple?
Taste is a little tart, green apple, also has some malty notes In the body and some hops in the finish. Also a bit of yeast.
Feel is pretty smooth with a medium body and a slight hoppy finish.
Overall not to bad I love a good dopplebock, I’ve never seen a blonde one before so I was happy to try it. jlruthven (612) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 10, 2012
Draft at Capital Tap Haus. Pours pretty clear dark gold with orange tint. Small, soapy white head. Nose is biscuity, a bit of clove and citrus. Taste follows suit: bits of rind, spicy finish. Way drinkable for the ABV.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with an off-white head that disappears and leaves some lacing. The aroma is mainly honey and cloves with a bit of yeast. The cloves are stronger in the taste along with some malt and yeast and a sweet aftertaste.

bright golden color in the glass. grainy aroma with some hints of sweetness, caramel and yeast. sweet malt, banana, and a faint hint of clove are what I got out if the flavor. subtle alcohol taste for an 8%’er. Chudwick (3207) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - DEC 28, 2011
bottle - pours almost clear amber with nice tan head along with some lacing. Nose is caramel malts, yeast, alcohol and candy. Aroma is nutty, alcohol, old-timer fruit and sheer pleasure. Sweet all around. Quite possibly my favorite new beer since Malheur 12. I will be having this one again and will share it. SanfordBrewer (1574) - Sanford, Florida, USA - DEC 21, 2011
Translucent copper with a wisp of beige head. Medium-full body with medium carbonation.
Aroma: lots of aromatic malts.
Taste: rich malt, and warm alcohol notes.
A good, clean doppelbock. Not heavy or cloying.
