On tap at the source. Pours a honey colored amber with an off-white head leaving some lacing. Aroma has carmel, bread, light honey, and some tangy spices. Taste is of caramel, some fruit, some spice, a touch of lemon and biscuit. Medium bodied with a touch of alcohol, the blend is solid and the carbonation was constant. Finishes sweet, but not strongly so. Very interesting for style as it does come across as ’blonde’, although - ultimately - not that thrilling. 13.2 IrishBoy (4200) - Bakersfield, California, USA - APR 5, 2016

A nice doppelbock overall, not as intensely malty as some others. Pours a thick bright orange with a white head. Smells of honey and strawberries. Taste is quite thick and creamy, with more honey, strawberries and raspberries, and a sweet finish. Had in the bottle. tossmeabeer (24) - San Luis Obispo, California, USA - MAY 19, 2015

Pours a copper/light copper, creamy head nice lace. Aroma of strong nutty distinct malt, sweetness, vanilla, cookie, and a little bit of ripe fruit. Smooth rich strong malty beer, raison sweetness, caramel, vanilla, oatmeal bready cookie, your mom and a whole lot more. Citrus orange numbing in the finish with a strong but not obvious alcohol malty mealy richness. Raison caramel sweetness. Nice beer. kambei70 (1070) - - OCT 4, 2014
2014 bottle. Pours a hazy honey copper color with a thin off-white head. Big malt aroma with some caramel. Taste is malt with a little sweetness, some caramel and a surprising bit of bitterness. A hint of alcohol as well. A medium-full mouthfeel with good carbonation an a little sting.

Pours a brilliantly clear garnet tinged copper color with minimal white head that settles to a ring and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of sweet bread crust, toffee, light plum and some toastiness. Taste is very similar to smell with bread crust, toastiness, toffee, light plum, faint noble hops. Finishes mostly dry with a little maltiness and very slight alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel is semi slick with a light body and medium/high carbonation. Nice, clean dopplebock that hits all the marks for the style. fidelis83 (2441) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - JUL 22, 2014
Hazy copper pour with a thin white head. Aroma is big on bready and caramel malts, nice toasty notes a little dusty floral presence and toffee. Flavor is caramel, toffee, sweet bread crust, date nut bread, and just a hint of earthy, spicy hops. Medium body with a creamy, but syrupy feel throughout and a light, but blanketing carbonation. Really tasty stuff overall, definitely a beer better served in cooler weather, but still very much enjoyable.
