The Flame is a very interesting concept and there is not enough space to describe it here. You’ll have to visit our website for the complete story. But it will suffice to say that this is the "birth beer" of the concept. In this stage it is a blend of Autumnal Fire and a formula for something we whipped together and called "Imperial Fire." Combined they form the beginning of the Eternal Flame, a deeply amber hued Doppelbock that is 9.1 ABV of silky malt intensity.

Bottle. Clean, clear copper color. Moderate head of ecru bubbles. Heavy caramel, bits of grain and hints of alcohol in the aromas. This one has me thinking “amber malt liquor”. Sweet start with pale and lightly toasted malts. Some light fruit and floral hops. Thicker, but enough tiny bubbles to help it from getting too chewy or cloying. Stomach is starting to warm up. Flavors really start to blend. A nice fall by the fire type brew. 7/11

Poured a mahogany color with little head. Can;t really describe the aroma but was definitely "off". Flavor. OMG! Horrible! Started out like a weak Doppel bock and quickly switched a nasty acidic sour dose of apple cider..I didn’t want to waste my money so I gagged most of this down over a half hour or so. Avoid!

This pours a dark brown color with a slight head. The aroma has a good amount of chocolate malt with a hint of hot spice.

Pretty good tho perhaps a hair under imperial. Great appearance; very good in all other regards but seems to be missing the heavy hitting of imperial style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty good beer. With an aggressive pour I got a small off white head that quickly settled down to a ring and no lace. Color is a very lovely, clear, red orange amber with a couple of tiny bubble trails. Aroma is great upon opening with an immediate whiff of sweet malt. Out of the glass are also caramel, toffee, fruit, and a very slight hint of butterscotch. Flavor is similar to nose with an excellent balancing effect from carbonic tang and bittering hops. Finish is like flavor with also a little banana, of good length, and some alcohol at the very end.

Lots of malt and bread on the nose with some cherry. Toast, caramel and cherry on the palate. Not much in the way of hops for this one.

Beautiful brown/dark red appearance. Wonderful aroma and palate with a slow burn at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear amber with slight off white head. Aroma is malted with hints of roasted caramel, stone fruits, and dates. Taste is sweet with a spicy finish Overall, I really enjoyed this beer because of the spicy warmth for the winter, but not an amazing beer.
