COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Wee Heavy can only be compared to our own hard-working King George; dark, strong and bold. Behold a hint of a cherrywood smoke finish rounded out by caramel, toffee, and roasty malt flavors.

Thanks Blaine. Poured into a thistle, the appearance was a dark copper color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head. Mild stringy lace. The aroma had some notes of clean caramel/toffee malts, some dark fruit, damp wood, sly smoke, earthiness, some grassiness, light herbal qualities and a little bit of cherry. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side with a rolling smokiness coming in underneath. Malty to smoky sort of aftertaste, but super light. Finish was moderately sweet with a touch of smoke. The palate was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine, fairly low but expected. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, really nice scotch ale that I would have again.

Aroma is caramel malts and smoky/slight scotch notes. The flavor is caramel/toffee, malts, very slightly spicy in the middle and a smoky/sweet/sour finish.

Bottle, 2015 vintage. Rich caramel malt aroma with notes of toffee, dark fruit and cherrywood smokiness. Pours dark caramel colored with a thin tan head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with sweet, rich caramel and toffee malt flavors. Finishes smooth with dark fruit and nice cherrywood smokiness that linger wonderfully on the palate. Excellent scotch ale!

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Wauwatosa, 9/26/16. Murky rusty red, small dense creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, earth, caramel, apple skins, vanilla. The taste is apples, strawberry, caramel, vanilla, toffee. Thin-medium bodied, low carbonation, hints of spice. Solid.

650ml bomber. This is a real treat form capital, one of the few in the bomber series that is real good. The cherrywood smokiness is great. DArk fruits, leathery. Great stuff here.

Brown with red hues. Sweet caramel with cherry and dark fruit, light prune, nutty toasted malt, and faint smokey roasted malt/chocolate. Flavor is sweet cherry and dark fruit cocktail with more nutty toasted malt and faint roast. Touch of sweet smoke. Syrupy mouthfeel, yet drinkable. Trailing grainy, nutty cocoa. Despite being sweet and very Americanized, this is very good.

From notes on 3/7/15 Pretty good. Sweet grainy and some lite spiciness. Nice amount of roasty caramel taste. Liking this new Capital Brewery stuff.

Bottle - Pours rosy brown with a filmy light tan head. Nose is malty, a bit sour, with some caramel sweetness. Taste is better, with a doppelbock malt sweetness, candi sugar, and a touch of dry smoke on the finish. Real thin and watery with just a bit of carbonation.
