Golden brown with a foamy head. Nose is sweet, malty, and fruity. Medium to full bodied with subdued carbonation. Sweet and simple but tasty with just a touch of hops in the finish.

Nice orangy glow with a huge creamy white head, two fingers high and settled slowly to retain a solid haze of bubbles and some large curtains of lace and some spots. Smell is soft of yeast, breadlike dough with hop notes lingering in the back and sweet malt notes as well. Taste is smooth and mild with a small sweet tang and easy bitterness, quite nice. The malt really comes through as it warms which is a nice feature. Feel is a solid medium/light body with a lightly measurable creamyness, an oily sense as well and has a slight zestyness in the finishing hold.

Kind of dissappointing, being that I was expecting something a little stronger. Probably won't get this again

Very nice Maibock ,golden in color.sweet malty aroma.Light in flavor it's sweet with a small hop presence, but it is well balanced between the two.It leaves a slight hoppy after taste with a smooth finish .very drinkable brew.I wish i should have got more with this trade for a later date.

The color was a hazy deep orange with a nice frothy white head. The aroma was sweet...slight alcohol...brown sugar. the flavor was sweet as well with a noticeable alcohol kick. Nice creamy feel, yet crisp in the finish.

Excellent Maibock, as noted by everybody else, a little sweet, but not enough to detrack much from its flavor.

stefanberggren (135) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 13, 2003
A great Maibock that is complex with a lot of original character. It is a bit sweet, but the hops compliment the body and maltiness very well. There is little head, presumably due to the higher alcohol. It starts off sweet with a nice mouthfeel. From there is moves into rasins and apples finally to finish with a nice noble hop taste. Well done and it ages woderfully (one year no more).

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2003 Fruity malt in the nose--very inviting. Great sweet pale malt flavors adhering perfectly to the style. Maybe a bit sweet for some, and not terribly complex, I still happen to like this quite a bit.

A fruity and malty aroma. It is exactly what a Maibock should be. Malty with a nice long finish. This beer goes great with a wurst and sauerkraut meal!

Golden copper color with a full head. Sweet malty aroma leading into a flavor lightly balanced with soft carbonation. The finish is mellow with a noble hoppiness. Not very complex but still enjoyable.
