A classic Wisconsin Lager at it’s finest. Harking back to an era where Supper Clubs were In Vogue and Wisconsin had numerous regional breweries making their version of American Style Lagers. You know, back when these types of beers exhibited regional soul. And many of these beers were enjoyed during an evening spent at a local Supper Club, visiting with friends and family and having a good dinner. Supper Club is an eminently drinkable version of a true American Lager. Featuring a greater depth of refreshing malt character than the mass marketed versions of the style, Supper Club is clean yet satisfying.

DrnkMcDermott's rating

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20

Bottle, $1.50 from build-a-six rack at Binny’s. Twist off cap shows some oxidation in the headspace. Pours a clean yellow color into my narrow pils glass, rocky head of slightly off-white foam. Smell has some volatiles to it, like there’s corn involved in a big way. Taste is okay, but merely. Substantial but a bit sweet. Needs some finishing hops for balance. I suppose this can be claimed as a throwback to lagers of the 60s, but sometimes that’s just not enough.

A reviewer has this described perfectly... "Enjoy something that’s not an IPA or Imperial Stout. This is a very good, malt forward lager. A beer you could knock down a few at a Supper Club. No reason to sniff and swirl this beer just drink it and enjoy."

Clear golden color. Sweet cereals grains in the nose and flavor. Not much else. Non offensive but boring.

Poured into tapered Pilsen glass, it resembles apple cider. Streaming with bubbles, has a nice caramel color. Slightly malty initially, wheaty cereal on the palate. A good text book German style lager, goes down easy with ample flavor. Cheers Capital

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2017 This is what I hate about Rate Beer. 24 score overall but 97 in style. Enjoy something that’s not an IPA or Imperial Stout. This is a very good, malt forward lager. A beer you could knock down a few at a Supper Club. No reason to sniff and swirl this beer just drink it and enjoy.

This shit was so fucking dry I actually poured it out. I’ve never poured a beer out before.

Golden draft pour at Millies supper club. White head. Corn and grain aroma. Taste is a little sweet, some fruits and malts. A pretty decent lager. Expected garbage and kinda liked it

C. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Has good flavor up front, but a grass finish

12 ounce can from Trig’s in Wausau, WI, consumed ice cold from a pint glass. Clear pale gold with a massive rocky white head that sticks around longer than expected...grainy, biscuit nose with hints of thistle and thyme, reasonably fresh and fairly sweet and strong, especially as it warms...sweet, full-bodied, moderately carbonated, only faint hints of hops near the finish, but eminently drinkable as it descends neither into syrupiness nor wateriness, just staying pretty much as promised - a quality brewery version of a generally shit mass-produce style. I don’t think I’ve ever found this at a real Supper Club, sadly, nor have I yet found it on tap (or maybe I’m forgetting and I have - but I was required to try something more interesting), but it has been one of my summer staples to sit out on the porch drinking in 80 degree weather since moving back to the dairy state. I bet it’d be great with fresh Crappie or Bluegill!

clear yellow, white head. quite typical lager aroma, with a hint of citrus. Flavor is like a pale lager, malty, also with faint cereral, mild hopping, and euro hops. in fact, many european macro lagers taste same or better. This has some extra malts going for it, but the cereral flavor reminds me of cheap spanish non alc. beers.

It?s ok. Beer looks fantastic, can is lame. An unadventurous lager, easy to drink. Wouldn’t seek it out but wouldn’t avoid it either.
