Pours an amber gold with a thin but lasting crown of off white foam. Nose is hops. Nice and creamy on the palate, the taste is malt on the front end with mostly hops on the finish, not overly bitter. A well brewed pale ale that accompanies smoked turkey or smoke salmon very well. jmcgavin12 (492) - Madison, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Light hoppy aroma with a bit of malt sweetness on the nose. Pretty light and very drinkable. A great beer for the summer mcjay (463) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 30, 2008
Nice golden color with a medium off white head and very good carbonation. Aroma and taste both have a nice hop to malt balance. Seems a little tame for a pale ale but still remains rich and flavorful. jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 14, 2007
Kirby has gone native on us and left Germany for the good ol USA. Tap at the bier garten. This beer is pale yellow with a hefty head. Nice nose of malty malt. I’d say a German malt with a good dose of Munich. Biscuits and pecan sandies. Very little hop character but the bitterness is there. Extremely well balanced in terms of aroma (how does he do that so consistently?), but this beer isn’t supposed to be. Bitterness is somehow smoozed over by the malty goodness. I love the hay/understated caramel with little finish for a summer beer. I had a Fest after this and it tasted so overdone. Good effort at a new direction for my hometown brewery. madcow75 (426) - Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 14, 2007
Bottle. Pours is clear, light amber, thin head. Aroma is a little citrus and spice. Taste is more citrus, pine and the slightest bit of earthy malt. Nice bitterness and a little astringent. A little light bodied, but VERY drinkable, you can down a 6er of this easy.

Nice light hoppy aroma, begging to be tasted. The taste is smoother than I expected, with much less bitterness than I thought it would have. Real smooth, but overall nothing stands out flavor-wise. Quite drinkable overall. joshmcg000 (388) - Iowa, USA - APR 6, 2015
Pours hazy amber with white head. Aroma is very malty, mostly caramel. Very nice caramel malt character. Little bit of citrus and pine from the hops. Nice well balanced refreshing pale ale. MaltOne (375) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 25, 2014
Pours butterscotch gold. Slightly yeasty aroma. Light hops and faint yeast flavor. Nice, refreshing everyday beer. Light. dekester1 (367) - Town of Maple Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 30, 2010
Poured a nice gold with a light fruity aroma. Taste was of malt and citrus with a mid to strong hop finish. Not a bad pale ale - actually very decent. spilledpint (352) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - AUG 1, 2014
Medium copper, translucent pour with a small head that leaves a bit of lace. Aroma is fairly mild with a bit of citrus and straw. Flavor follows suit. Medium body with slightly sticky mouthfeel.
