One of the most unique beers brewed in the United States. A fine, almost nutty flavor complimented by a smooth hop character that combine to make excellent drinkability.

Odd smooth nuttiness which I’m guessing is the wild rice. As is typical for Captial brews, just not alot going on here, quite bland and a bit thin in body. Aroma degrades into some odd vegetal smells the further you get into the glass. Interesting idea and very unique, but low on execution.

From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Wild Rice Garten Brau". Deep yellow gold color. Soft nutty malt aroma. Smooth nutty toasted malt flavor has a clinging mouthfeel. Delicious subtle spicy hop finish. Great balance. Very well done.

12oz bottle (Old Notes-Garten Bräu on Label)-Pours copper with a decent sized head. Aroma of grains, corn, and malt. Taste of the same with some hops coming thru as well. This light to medium bodied brew is not bad and rather tasty.

Light amber...very metalic...keystone light is better...it was free. Thin body blahhh.

Pours a golden yellow color with a nice white head. Some light jop aroma with maybe just a hint of malt? Nice crisp slightly hop flavor with not much else.A nice bitter finish as well.

12 oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear bright gold body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a thin wispy film. The nose is pretty light at first, but with a generous swirl I’m getting a weird plastic like note and maybe even a bit of cooked vegetables. The flavor is quite odd, there’s still that weird chemical or plastic note, but there’s also some sweet sugary notes and a touch of grape soda on the finish. Light bodied and fizzy with a rather abrupt finish. Not the best effort that I’ve had from Capital, I wonder if this bottle isn’t up to par?

Macro brew looking orange/yellow with a *BRIGHT* white head that’s thick as marshmallow. Sweet, fruity malt nose. Many beers look better than they taste. This one tastes better than it looks, which is a good thing. A bit over carbonated, but with a nice nutty twist. Could use a few more hops, but the ones that are there are doing their job. Usually I bitch about rice in beer, but this is pleasant and refreshing.

I was glad that they brought this one back this summer. It had been awhile since I had this one last (still with the old Cpaital labeling). Definately displays the nuttiness of a rice beer. A little more astringent than I last remember, but good nonetheless.

Draft at the brewpub. Brewery malt room aroma. Orange-tan color with minimal head. Creamy and smooth, with some faint hop balance. Fruity and mild malt taste. Medium to light bodied, a very easy drinker. Sessionable, non-offensive beer. OK at best.

Mother in law spooted this one for me. Use to drink this as an alturnitive to bmc 20 years ago. So glad I have the chance to rate one. Corn and bitter sweet nose. Dark golden body with white head that disapated shortly after pour. Barley grain and sharp bitter to start with. Bittering mellowed but stayed with the beer to finish where the sweet malted caramel corn finish. Thanks to all the moms that buy their boys beer.
