A solid, malt emphasized lager, the firey hued richness perfectly balanced by clean hop bittering.

Appearance: slightly cloudy deep orange, small head Smell: sweet alcohol scent; nothing special Taste: bitter, nice flavor, nothing extraordinary, very smooth Mouthfeel: good! I expected a heavy finish, but got a nice easy end Very drinkable, though nothing special.

Viennas just aren't my style. This beer poured amber-orange with a thin off-white head. Nice floral hoppy aroma with sweet malts. I simply found the flavor and body to be lacking- the floral hops flavors are nice but the malts left a "sugar water" impression on me, leaving a very sweet but short-lived flavor followed by watery blandness. The beer also had a somewhat tangy middle. Boring.

Amber color(duh). Nice little head with some fine lacing. Malty aroma with some hops in the background. Thin mouthfeel. Clean and easy drinking. I'm not sure why the description says loosely based on Vienna, seems to be a pretty accurate description. Carmelly and a little bit of roasted malt flavor. Good beer - yes. As good as Schell Firebrick - f*@# no!

balke13 (156) - MIssoula, Montana, USA - JAN 21, 2004
pours a clear amber color with a nice white head that hangs around for a bit, a small bit of hops and malt aroma with the hops coming apparent in the taste along with a nice sweet carmel flavor...a nice beer that would be a second to wisconsin's best vienna...Lakefront Riverwest...good beer otherwise

Nexxus (261) - Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA - JAN 11, 2004
Clear amber (big surprise there) with a quickly diminishing medium off white head. Slightly hoppy aroma with caramel, bread and a hint of apple. Light medium watery body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very smooth and refreshing. A light flavor of caramel, apple, spice, and a hint of roast. Decent, but not memorbale.

DCopperfields (146) - New York, USA - DEC 25, 2003
Copper brew, white head. Not outstanding, but good as one would expect. Smells of malt, a little like toasted sourdough. Taste is smooth, medium mouthfeel. A little on the roasty side, and a perfect session brew. Cheers to Capital as my first brew this Christmas day, 2003.

Syd (921) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2003
Bottle pours a (you guessed it) amber color with decent head and some lace. The aroma is malty and mildly hoppy. The flavor was a nice clean lager flavor with a touch of dopplebock sour in the finish. Overall, I liked it real well, as I consumed six of them at my cousin's graduation party this afternoon at the University of Wisconsin's Memorial Union. Good session beer.

Nice beer to keep around the house. I wish they sold 12 packs. Has a dark amber color and a thin head. Aroma is slightly soapy.

3.4
djmcfar (64) - Ixonia, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 9, 2003
aroma fruity, sweet, slightly hoppy; non-uniform larger than medium head (tan)- dark amber color; flavor -excellent hoppiness (but not over-powering)- sweetness accompanies slight bitterness - complex finish - easy to drink - ABV not listed, Id guess around 5.5 (could be higher)
