pours a clear amber color with a nice white head that hangs around for a bit, a small bit of hops and malt aroma with the hops coming apparent in the taste along with a nice sweet carmel flavor...a nice beer that would be a second to wisconsin's best vienna...Lakefront Riverwest...good beer otherwise ampp (155) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - SEP 5, 2003

I thought that this was a very refreshing brew. I liked it. Bigsky66 (148) - Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 19, 2005
UPDATED: APR 22, 2008 Pretty good stuff. I did like the smooth malty flavor coupled with slight hops. Sweet and drinkable. Malts are a little chewy. Well balanced beer and a perfect grilling beer. On tap Hoover Ave. Ale House.

Copper brew, white head. Not outstanding, but good as one would expect.
Smells of malt, a little like toasted sourdough.
Taste is smooth, medium mouthfeel. A little on the roasty side, and a perfect session brew. Cheers to Capital as my first brew this Christmas day, 2003. scrawfis (143) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - APR 16, 2001
Wow! I have to say I’m surprised by this.
Floral smells envelope this amber ale. At first
taste, more floral accents followed by a great balance
of amber type malting and hops. jason1970 (143) - Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 This is an enjoyable amber. Nice caramel malty aroma and a clear red appearance with a soft white head. Taste mirrors the aroma and appearance. Notes of cereal and bread with a slight caramel sweetness. Drinkable session amber. bboeckl (142) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 12, 2007
Bottle. Decent looking beer. Amber shade of golden yellow. Retains head well. Taste of carmel, banana, grain, maple. For some reason I am tasting similar characteristics of New Glauras’s stone soup. Some bitterness which seemed to linger. I’m not overly excited but not bad. IPAaLLtHEwAY (142) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 3, 2008
Pours amber with a very lively head. Malty/bitter earthy smell. Tastes very crisp and refreshing. Not much of a body though. Almost too bland for me. But if its hot out and your thirsty, this beats the piss outta Gatorade.
