Clear light orangey amber, gently covered by a creamy off-white head. Combining husks and esters form soft apricot, banana and mango nuances that complement the honeyed cereals and biscuity caramel malts. I couldn’t figure if it was yeast work or additions, but the spiciness emerging from this nose is most appealing, ringing bells of cumin, pepper and ginger. Somehow, the mellow butteriness never disturbs, as the global smoothness of the malt and unexciting hops procure a sense of plain balance. Medium airy body full of small bubbles. Not a bad take, finishing a bit short perhaps. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 5, 2005
GABF 2005. Clear, deep golden body with a medium foamy off-white head. Mild aroma of citrus, floral esters, and light malt. Sweet honey-like flavor with some fruity esters and low bitterness. Too sweet and sticky. A lackluster Biere de Garde. I was very surprised to see this beer win a gold medal minutes after I sampled it. MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 3, 2005
light brown tall tan head. Smells of ginger and other spice w/ some english style malts. Avg palate. flavor is ginger and pepper and an odd tasting sweet malt. Not very good. Crash (532) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - OCT 3, 2005
Pours yellowish with no head or lacing. I didn’t find much aroma in this beer. The taste was pretty much not there also. This may have been a light beer that was killed by others. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 27, 2005
intresting... a cloudy dark yellow/orange. The guy with the cigar next door killed any chance of getting an aroma. The taste was intresting and took me a few tries before I good figure out what i was drinking. A little sweet with a touch of citrus. Ok..

A pleasant little surprise from the folks at Cap City. Slightly sweet with just a twinge of hop at the very end.
