ON tap. Very clear yellow pour with a white head. ARoma was pretty mild; bready and a bit grassy. Flavor was of bread, yeast with only a light sweetness. A bit of earthy/spicy hops in the finish. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 16, 2009

Sampled on draft at the brewery. Pours a clear pale straw color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of grain and grass. Taste is bitter grassy hops, grain, apple and pear. Strongly carbonated. Very crisp. Medium bodied. Very nice beer. ben4321 (6510) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 7, 2009

Aroma: Subtle, boring typical Pils-like nose
Appearance: Clear, yellowish
Flavor: Slight fruits, not much else there
Palate: Light body, thin, no lingering taste
I’m not a Kolsch guy, For the style it was better then average, but I still couldn’t rate it much then this.
Draught at the downtown location. Light yellow with a fine white head that leaves some lace. Slightly sweet, grainy aroma, with a subtle hop spice. The flavor is a bit grainy, maybe due to the 10% wheat, and has a light sweetness before finishing with a touch of bitterness and german hop flavor. I’m hard on Kölsch because I know that it can have great, subtle malt flavor, and this one misses by a bit; just a bit thin and grainy, though it does have some hop bite.

*Summary* - As far as the kolsch style goes this is a great version. Light and easy on the palate it refreshed without being heavy. It would not be hard to knock down a few of these in short order.
*Aroma / Appearance* - Clear and carbonated the thin white head protects a simple nose of light hops. There is not much to report; it is a kolsch after all.
*Flavor / Palate* - Fading fast there is a blend of honey and wheat before the end. Definitely a warm weather refresher this could be a nice value if you are a fan of the style. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - DEC 9, 2008
Prety nice as far as a Kolsch goes. Poured a pale yellow. Had a nice hoppy nose. Flavor was hops and a little bit of biscuit dough. Palate was a little thin, but a Kolsch is not a style you really want to chew on. Could see having a couple of pints of this and not being unhappy. GABF 2008. Clear pale golden. Grainy, with a faint apple and pear accent. Palate is thin and watery, pale malts with a hint of orchard fruit. Not a very convincing kolsch. BREWMUSKCLES (2687) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 4, 2008
i found this to be quite a flavorful kolsch indeed. ginger ale in appearance without the soda like carbonation it was pure grains and fragrant with a typical German type hop profile. certainly one of the better ones i have tried. pure and pungent mash aroma of barley and wet straw. quite substantive of character and just a residual fruit flavor. A refreshing beer for an afternoon pick-me-up after tromping around DC on a summer’s day. The beer was too sweet and lacked the sharpness for a Kolsch.
