COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An English style robust Porter with huge malt notes from Chocolate and Black malt matched with a huge use of Crystal malt to lend ruby hues to the corners of the glass. This dark brew is then highly hopped with imported Northdown and First Gold hops to lend a subtle earthiness in character.

gyllenbock (9328) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2011
On tap at Capitol City Brewing - Downtown, October 2011. Dark brown with a small tan head. This was the best of the five beers that I tried during my visit to the Brewpub in Downtown DC. Quite a lot of chocolate in both the aroma and taste. Also notes of roasted malt, coffee and nuts. Easy to drink and descent.

Black pour. Smoke dominates the aroma and flavor. A sweet chocolate and coffee undertone with a lot of smock following. Pretty good and it has some distinguishing characteristics.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the Union Station location. Poured into a pint glass. Appearance is a very dark brown with a tan head and a tiny bit of lacing. The nose is coffee and chocolate with a bit of roasted grain. The taste is fairly light compared to the nose. Roasted malt and some coffee and chocolate. Feel is one of a medium body with some slight dryness. Good roast. Drinks well and is a nice fall beer. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-03-2010

This porter was a great blend of bitter and taste, something I have come to expect from a porter. We ended the night on this brew, and it definitely was worth the extra pain the next morning.
