An English style robust Porter with huge malt notes from Chocolate and Black malt matched with a huge use of Crystal malt to lend ruby hues to the corners of the glass. This dark brew is then highly hopped with imported Northdown and First Gold hops to lend a subtle earthiness in character.

Dark, with a thin head. Very light body. Sharp, burnt flavor. Finishes with a burnt malt flavor.

Draft @ Brewpub: Poured a dark brown with a tan head. The aroma was roasted malts and coffee. The flavor was the same with dark chocolate added. Overall, another tasty beer from them.

Sample at the Downtown location. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with notes of coffee and malt. Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate and malt. The finish is malty up front with a coffee and hops aftertaste that lingers awhile. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewery....I’m not a Porter lover and I found this one to be very bitter and coffee tasting......I couldn’t finish it....not too good for my taste.

Pint on tap at the brewpub. Well typical ice cream parlor flavored stuff. Trying to make too many flavors and never profecting any of them. Aroma light ginger and citrus. Dark black ad tan head. A semi-unpleasent metal taste. Not bad but not great either.

richlikebeer (838) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 5, 2009
on tap at inner harbor, milky looking brown color, big, soapy coffee colored head, tons of chocolate in the nose, lots of coffee, grass and toast as well. flavor of coffee and chocolate with hints of vanila, very creamy, velvety mouthfeel, lots of body for a porter. a very enjoyable beer, easily one of their best regular offerings.

Bad ass growler from Dave. Thanks my friend!! Pours a brown color with a tan head. Aroma is very roasty and has some notes of molasses and chocolate. Flavor is lightly roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee notes. Simple and smooth.

Enjoyed at the Capitol Hill brewpub. This beer pours a dark brown tone with a nice tan head. Great lacing. Aroma is roasted notes with chocolate and a bit of tart hops. Flavor is also chocolate an coffee. Those roasted notes keep coming. Well balanced. A delightful beer.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub near Union Station in Washington, D.C. Hazy dark brown pour with a light brown head, chocolate malty nose, a nice creamy chocolate and malt flavor, smooth finish, very nice.
