From tap at the DC location. Pours pitch black with a small, lacing and tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty, breadish and dry liqourice. Toasted malty and light caramelish. Smooth liqourice into the finish. Roasted malty, light bitter and vague sweetness. Ungstrup (37954) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2006
A red-brown beer with a thin brown head - rather light in color for a Porter. The aroma is rather sweet with notes of roasted malt and seaweed. The flavor is sweet with a light roasted character, and a very smooth mouthfeel - it reminds me more of a Dry Irish Stout than a Porter. The body is thin. anders37 (26734) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 14, 2011

Sadly, this is one of Cap City’s better beers. Minimal aroma, and mild malty taste. Lubiere (13995) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2008

Flavor is heavy malt (nutty, chocolate, toast), light hops (woody), and average esters (dried fruit) with notes of paper, dates, and plum. Medium body, carbonation, and creaminess, low warmth and a dry finish. Dogbrick (13164) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 13, 2009
Sample at the Downtown location. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with notes of coffee and malt. Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate and malt. The finish is malty up front with a coffee and hops aftertaste that lingers awhile. Decent overall.
